^^Just test them on a piece like an old fender or hood. No need to kamikaze right into your competition car.

You can probably get them to work. I noticed i had to open them up to spray a lot more material and turn the pressure up in order to get the pattern and lay i wanted. When you get some cash check out the devilbiss plus, its pretty sweet. its not hvlp but it is a compliant gun and costs a bit less than the sata's. I have 2 satas, and i wish i would have saved some cash and bought a sata for color and the plus for clear.

yea i know what you mean. for the last gun i had with a 1.3 needle/tip i always had to have it opened up pretty good, and always do like 60psi+.... it sucked but the gun worked better. i really hope this isnt like that. i dont really want to return the kit but i dont want them to absolutely suck and get stuck with them..

The bagged cups are nice because there is less waste, gun clean up is accelerated and you will use less lacquer thinner saving you $$ in the long run. Also the bag is under vacuum you can literally spray upside down.

Lovely, are you the dude justin had at his shop?

were they any decent? i haven't used them yet. put it off. really debating just taking them back and waiting to get a better Sata or Iwata. i could use the funds to put towards some TE's.. just got a super good deal i thought these would have been something to make me some $$.

i do need to look into this. never knew about them. nothing pisses me off more than having the cup leak onto a hood, roof, or whatever the hell im spraying flat... that **** sucks. the only thing worse is leaking air/water catchers.

fuuuu that does sound worth it. these devillbiss cups are like CNC'd inside instead of polished so im sure theyre going to suck to clean...

Just sprayed the tank. Its a pretty good gun. I was just spoiled by my Sata. It sprayed out a lot more material than I remembered so I had to screw the needle in a bit more than I do on my sata. I did bump the air pressure a little in the beginning, but since I spent a little time tuning I could probably lower the pressure back down.

Keep it, it will do for now esp with the budget you have. Im sure you can learn to set it up correctly and spray like a pro with it.

i used it today. same deal with me. it uses a lot of product. i had the trigger almost fully closed, and the span set good. it's real easy to use. i like it. with these though if you dry shoot once when you run out of paint, you have to rinse the gun real quick before adding another cup full or else it plugs up briefly and "spatters" idk if this is common practice with any gun or what, but i did it this time, and it was gangster with the 1.8 needle/tip with high build primer.

i hope it stays like this, and the 1.3/1.5 gun works well too.

update copy/pasted from the local forums:
Primed all my aero, and Hot Line fenders. bringing the chassis down to my shop in the next day or so.

These guys worked like a champ!! 1.8 tip was a lot better than the 1.5 shitty harbor freight guns.

i block errythangz for the fashion show! hahaha check out that phatboy garage rear BN in my signature pic! the rear bn bumper i have now sucks loads.... it seriously looks like it was broken, and reglassed hahaha it's going to get a bunch of high build/block treatment a few times before i'll run it.

i wanna see this **** red already. i'm taking your advice though. i'm not doing much to the chassis. just the doors, fenders, aero, and hood are getting the attention. surprisingly (either im getting faster at this or im starting to care less) it's pretty much going to be sprayed in like 3-4 days it seems.

yea i did that too! hahaa i was super ****. but last time i didnt use high build. i primed the car like 4 times.... it took forever. this high build **** is real sweet.

i need to redo the key hole. i filled it with allmetal but when i tagged the wall at FD Vegas everything shifted over and it cracked out. just going to plate it.

Been a busy bee the past few days. tons of emails back and forth, hoping this deal falls into place for this season. super EXCITE - but still realistic.

ended up using the wrong hardener with all the aero and pieces i primed yesterday. going to let it cure another night, and hopefully i can prepsoll everything and respray it with the correct hardener... otherwise that crap would've been red right now :/

For once i have a stack of tires ready to go. ....but there's a twist

I STILL DON'T HAVE BACKWHEELS!!! hahaha who didn't see that coming? ****...

anyways i got a bunch of work fired out. finalized the design of the fenders. they're wide. i have cut them and re-glassed them so many times i've lost count as to how much wider they are now, but it's pretty much 2" wider the entire wheel well and a full 25mm from the front to the rear.

Before the last slice/extension.

After the cut.

Some stoney make shift measuring techniques.

with the wheel bolted up minus the spacers and still have yet to do the front lower ball joint extension....no idea what to do for tie rods if i commit and hack it up. lolz

hopefully some things start rolling in the next day or so. will post as updates come in.

Why not just get some varrstoens for the back so you can at least burn up that stack of tires?

it's real hard to tell in the pic. i'll know more once theyre primed. theyre not even body worked yet just shaped.

i'm hoping to magically get hit up to take in a car (would be a miracle before the event) so i can cruise to hotline and grab the rear TE's for my car.... always something holding my car back...

finally getting everything primed aside from the chassis which i still haven't transported.... as well as the front fenders.

while i have time i am focusing on prepping the main visual impact points of the car, so if need be i have to rush the chassis (the least amount of material consumption to redo) i can.

all the new parts are looking pretty good as usual. i have the new guns dialed in really nice.

also waiting to find spacers to finish these guys... need 2 50mm spacers, or 30mm spacers to make sure these are symmetrical between the pair.

Gotta grab a passenger door to replace my blown in one tonight from aaron. Going to crash out until 7am and head back to get everything set up, and wiped down so i can start spraying color by 8:30. hopefully not have to color sand anything/respray, and be laying clear by 12-3pm when it's warm to get it flossin'

how much about? 12x1.5 pitch? do need!!! hella broke right now though... i have to buy more paint. BN eats this stuff.... lol

Got a lot fired out today.

Grabbed the door from Aaron earlier today. Immediately started removing the molding residue, and rock chip guard on the outer side, and skinned it to match my drivers side door.

my car now has almost 1 piece from every Vegas Rotary OG keeping it alive.

Didn't realize the paint i purchased actually had violet pearl in the base. pretty cool.

a lot of people get tripped out on painting out side. it's really not bad when you plan ahead - especially this time of year when there aren't any leaves to fall onto your painted surfaces.

Pretty much have the guns dialed really nice. I was kicking myself in the *** for purchasing guns before the event as i could've been more comfortable putting that money towards a few tires. but after having used them i can really say it was a smart move (for once)

they work real good, and are very consistent. this is straight after clear.

The only thing about the guns i do not care for is the fraudulent Pressure Regulator. If someone were to use this thing as a cheap boost controller a motor would be blown.... hahaha definitely need to toss it out...

Real crazy to think just a few grams of pearl can make the mica look like this:

Trying to source a pair of grippy front tires - 235/40/18 preferred but 225/40/18 will work also. Got word my wheels are coming!! Check back as there will be more info on this soon.
Hope you guys like the pics.
