I've been debating on trying the no rear sway bar once my t2 is up and running. What do you run on the front? Stock sway, or a biger front bar? Car should be stiff enough to get away with it.

 

I dont even have a front swaybar, took it off for clearance with the knuckles.

JTP can chime in on how it drives, I havent driven with no front yet.

 

lighter=better

i definitely love the look of deep offsets and stretched tire combo's, but the lighter wheels make a huge difference in throttle response and steering feel.. not to mention, help out on not breaking 3rd gear... basically the less rotating mass helps get wheels spinning especially at higher speeds. and on the front the steering feels quite a bit lighter and more responsive...

running huge, heavy dish wheels is cool, but be prepared to break trans/input shafts alot as you start making more power, and driving harder....

btw, i'm building a new car with deep dish modular wheels... and i'm ready to break ****!

 

i plan on removing my rear swaybar, and set the rear on soft ,to try it out this thursday night event. Ive been running full stiff all around lately, and I head it was a bad setup..Also today I was driving and i just decided to shift hard and instead of chirping tires ,I heard my diff make a pound noise when i shift up. I went under my car and it seems like my diff is loose. It has play. I think I broke my diff mount.

mine is starting to thud like this lightly, too. I can feel it when I clutch kick. pretty simple fix. upgrade while you replace!

Its so cool kids can experience drifting as it is now. I would have been in love with this silly sport for a long time if id been exposed as a kid!

 

yeah, there's going to be some amazing drivers in the future.. kids starting out when they're 11 in kart's sliding around..

 

I still remember when Pat Mordaunt came out to drift circuit down here in san diego, his mom drove the car to the track cause he had no license, he drifted all day, she drove it home. ******* awesome, now hes a FD driver

 

I thought KenGushi was amazing. I mean didnt he win a d1 event[or some sort of event] at 15 years old in 03? Then he got caught street drifting and got his license suspended til 21 lol. Street drifting bad ! but hey thats how most started out...

For the next 626 event Balcony in March 14th Im going to experiment with tire setups.. running stretched 215s in the rear is just not working right for me, its hard to drive not enough grip..I finally figured out that you need alot of grip to drift.
I have these extra used tires laying in my garage donated from my friends lol Im going to have them mounted.I have a 17x10 which Il run in front with 235/45/17 and two sets of 18s for the rear, one with 235/40/18 and one with 245/35/18.. Im not sure if my car has enough power to spin the 245s, I guess il just do a standstill burnout and heat em up before I run lol& experiment whats better for my car haa. I just hope il have enough tread on one pair to drive home lol

 

youll be able to spin 245

but run low rear camber and 235s if you are having trouble spinning em, bump up the pressure.

And take out your rear swaybar!

 

cool thx. I took the rear sway bar out already as oilcover suggesttedd. it definitly has less "snapp". I jjuust cant wait to skid race at balcony !
