well since this is the drift section i'd assume you plan to drift.. coilovers are going to be your best option. springs and shocks are good for driving around town and entry level racing, generally anything will work, just get name brand stuff. if you look in the FC section of rx7 club there's tons of threads about spring/shock combinations that people like/dislike.

I had stock struts with Intractable springs obo my base hardtop, and they handled well. Would have been a real nice package with good KYBs or even Tokicos.
My vert currently sits on Tein S.Techs and Tokico Blues. Haven't driven it yet, but I imagine it'll do fine until coils find their way on.

After going coilover, springs and struts are stupid purchases unless you get them for nearly free.
Ksports are in the $700 range. You can always keep the coilovers for the new car and put the stock suspension back on if you sell the current fc.
I drove Eibach springs and Tokico Blues for a month before I went coilovers. They weren't that bad together. It was still a night and day difference once I went coilover.
