i got the meguiars claybar kit thing for free a few months back...never even used it
maybe ill try what mahjik said...wash nice and clean, claybar, then the wax
ive always had to wax the car about 1-2 times a month even with the nxt.
i noticed the nxt wax repels rain pretty well too

but i want to try the 3M swirl remover..where should i fit in this? after the wash before the claybar? or after the wash and claybar and before the wax/deep crystal?

 

i was wondering if those orbiters are any good?
or should i just use the old fashioned hand buffing

 

Has anyone ever tried P21S wax? It's kind of expensive but I heard it works really well, but I'm hoping to hear other reviews. Their site is www.p21s.com if you want to check it out.

 

^I heard so many good things about the p21s, can be had for $15 off of ebay, for a really small amount. I have seen some of this on my neighbors viper and it really is amazing. I think its available at harley davidson dealerships. Anyways its supposed to be one of the best waxes out their with zymol,nxt etc etc. I use zymol and really like the results and it beads off water well. I am looking foward to trying the dupont and the p21s

 

Meguires also has a swirl remover/wax all in one.

I've never used a swirl remover before, but I would imagine it would be after the claybar and the before the wax.

 

been waxing my cars for years...never once i did claybar them...im hoping this weekend will be a good time to try it out

The NXT wax is nice, however, if the kit came with the Deep Crystal I would recommend using it instead. The NXT wax seems a little thin compared to the Deep Crystal.

The first time you do the claybar, you'll be amazed. You won't want to wax it after you claybar it. It take a lot of time, but well worth it IMO.

Since my RX-7 doesn't get out much, I only do the treatment to it once a year. Our daily driven cars, usually twice a year (maybe more this year since there is a lot more construction on the highways around here).

 

I don't see why you would need to use a claybar if you don't have overspray on it. just use that du pont wax. Less time, and very nice shine. The car really looks wet when your done. It is tuff to remove though, so panel at a time is the best way. Earlier today I had my detail bay buff some of the du pont wax into a 2001 Black ES300. Holy hell! thats all I have to say Holy Hell!

 

idk, im a bit skeptical on the 3 in 1 deals, it doesnt seem to do a better job than a polish thats made for that one thing like swirl removing or shine etc etc..

but ill try it anyway.. do you think its bad to wax your car every week or every other week? or does it depend on the wax?

cause i usually wax my car every wash which is every week or every 10 days or so..

 

Because claybar removes a lot of crap that soap won't which is the whole point of it. There is a lot that cakes on your car from driving on the highways which can't just be washed off. Claybar safely removes the film and allows a better surface for waxing/polishing.

Back in the day, I heard it was bad on the paint to wax the car too often. Really, you only need to "wax" the car when the old wax is gone. If water still beads on the car, the wax is still there. All you need to do after washing is just wipe it down and buff it with a nice soft cloth. You can use Detailing Spray (the same stuff you'll use as lubricant for the Meguiar's Claybar) if needed between waxings.

i guess ill wax my car every 3 weeks now..

 

I've used Zaino and NXT side by side.

Both are easy to apply and take off.

The results are really close, but the Zaino looks a little wetter and gets better as u can "build" layers on it for a deeper shine.

BTW, has anyone used this Dupont tire gloss?
