It honestly just seemed kind of fishy at first, but the point is the demeanor toward our group was like we were criminals or something when we simply just was not sure what was going on because the people who were with us never registered in the past, or it was our first time going to the gap. I was under the impression that registering was optional honestly, i asked a few people about it and they told me we didn't have to register to attend the event. Not everybody lives on the forums though and it obviously wasn't stated clear enough on here or we probably would have pre registered, just so we wouldn't have to deal with the hassling. we weren't trying to be freeloaders by any means, but we definately didnt appreciate how we were treated because we didnt know that we had to register to even attend the event and then not get a clear enough explanation in-person, as to why things are done the way they are. It was a misunderstanding and zensokuracer was singled out for it from what i saw.
You were misinformed you dont have to pre-register, but EVERYONE has to register

For the OP, details on the event are always posted in this forum as well as on http://www.dealsgaprotaryrally.com so there is plenty of info available on what to expect and what is required to attend. You guys had a mix up but take some responsibility to learn more before attending again.

As for making a ton of cash to fund Phil's cars, do the math: 200 attendees at $30 per registration = $6,000. Subtract from that the t-shirts and lodge obligations, and I'd say Phil couldn't fund one of the model RX8s they gave away at the raffle let alone parts for the quality of his car builds. I'd say if you added up all the hours he puts into this and turn it into an hourly rate, he'd be making pennies per hour. And if I am wrong on the math and he clears some $$, then he deserves it for putting in the time for the event. Wouldn't begrudge him at all.

Again, maybe there needed to be someone other than Phil getting everyone to register. Maybe someone's cute girlfriend could've done it. Oh wait, we drive rx7's. Sorry I was confused. But phil you are very busy organizing and preparing the event.... so maybe someone can help you with making sure everyone has registered. When you can admit that you were wrong with your approach, I will apologize for my actions.

Im good. I have no hard feelings toward anyone. I plan to attend and support future events. But if I am approached wrongly I will speak my mind again. I love the event. Again, love all the people that make it happen. And love seeing all the rotary enthusiasts each year.

So I will see you guys next year. Hopefully with a car.

Neal, I hate to tell you, but what I stated is correct. I asked if you registered because I did not see you on the list (which I had it in my hand), and you clearly stated to me, "NO, What are your going to do about it!". And hence my response back to you.

My circle of friends that were with me felt the situation was handled wrong. I felt the situation was handled wrong. Im the nicest guy you wanna meet, so I know im not the raving lunatic here.
Handled wrong?? When you stated to me what I'm going to do if you didn't pay, my answer of, "I'm going to be a Dick" is reasonable. Not only that, you trying to make it sound like you are the nicest guy, but I am also a nice guy with very understanding of the situation. As who was the one made an attempt to find your friend and stated that he can just sign the waiver and we are all good?? I think it was me. Who was the one who found out that you were part of Rotorsports and said no need to register for you and all your friends (now find out you weren't part of RotorSports)? Again, you can say what you want, but the fact is, I gave your friend an option and he decided to pay for registration and I guess he's pissed because his friends didn't have to after you falsely stated you were part of RotorSports.

As stated, its being fair. I also checked to see if you registered in the past as Someone told me you have attended this event before. I guess you just like to show up without respecting all our hard works?? Not only that I confronted Jonathan and he assumed you were registered and hence he gave the cabin to you. That will not happen next year. You took those who paid and been on the waiting list to get those cabin and you didn't even register.

When I first started going to dgrr I was informed that the registration was to make your car eligible for the car show. Ive never looked at my car as a beauty queen. She is a daily driven *****. So I never registered because of that. So maybe im wrong.
Hassle? I still don't understand how me coming up to you to ask you if you registered is hassle? What you think I should just sit back and let you do what you wish?? Some have made a point to me that, They should be pissed because I let people like you and your friends attend without paying. I agree.. If you and your friends can't grasp that concept, I don't know what you tell you.. Except, This situation will not happen next year as we will be strict about not allowing those without registering to book nor attend any event at DGRR.

If anyone ask to display my car after I have purchased a product from them, I oblige. I do plan to attend any rotary event in the future that is accepting of me there. Now we all should know wha the proper procedures are for your event.
Funny how you say that but when I spent 5 minutes clarifying at the event and stated to you why didn't you tell me you were part of Rotorsport, you didn't mention to me you were. I only knew because Bryan from RotorSports told me after I told him I had some issues and misunderstanding. So, you preach to me about how things should of been handled but when I was the one who tracked you down and appologized and made everything A OK, that's not enough? GeeZ! Don't be an hypocrite or trying to state you are some better person than I. I didn't want to bring you into this except YOU were the one who brought me into this.

We good bro!!
Yes, that's what you stated. I would never say I'm going to be a Dick without a reason. Also, think back again, who was the one trying to solve the problem with your friend.. I was the one 10 mins later to bring your friend back up to just sign the waiver and not charge for a registration. I gave him the option and even said, "you sure you want to register?". I was the one who found out that you were part of RotorSport though Jonathan Hallenborg. And came up to you solve the issue. Now, All that was a bad choice? I could of easily gotten a staff from NVNC and ask you to leave. Now that would of been an ******* thing to do.

Neal, I did have someone. Your friend asked what you get, volunteer answered, your friend wanted more answer and I was involved. Also it was his choice initially not to register after and knew of the consequences. I saw he was still around after he falsely telling me he was going to leave. That's when I decided to him a different option of just letting him sign the waiver. He than opt to register. It was his decision and options were given to him. Telling me now that money wasn't issue than he should of just signed up from the beginning. Does that make sense?

Also, I had to come up to you because he was your guess. Have you also thought maybe you knew your friend was having issue you should of approached me and try to clarify? If I recall I tried to clarify ye situation and no one from you or your friend did. Except I'm being called an *******

Good! I have no hard feeling as long as you register next year. Hope you understand the issue at hand?
