Catback weight?

Guys,

What does your power series catback exhaust weigh? It will be going on an S5 NA.

Thanks!

Follow up question for CS.

What is the weight of the 2.5" system vs the 80mm system?

Also have you dynoed your systems?

I am curious if there is much if any difference in power gains between the two systems on a stock port, stock intake S5 car with a race pipe (cat removed)?

We are building a NASA PT car and will be running a stock manifold, stock intake, stock port engine S5 car. We want the lightest most open exhaust we can get for our money.

My engineering gut tells me that in this case (non-turbo, mostly stock car) there will not be much difference in power gains between the 2.5 and the 80mm.

Let us know!

You may want to check out the N/A performance section of this forum to find the size piping you should be using for your specific purpose.

The CorkSport Exhaust Weights

80mm 19lbs

2.5 inch 18 lbs

One thing to consider on NA cars is the 2.5 system uses the same OD as the 80mm but the pipe diameter is smaller so there is more muffler packing to quiet the exhaust down.

I do not have a back to back dyno of the 2.5 vs the 80mm system. I personally would go with the 2.5 exhaust on an NA Rx7.

Using general information from internet forums gets you nowhere in racing.

Wow, thats pretty bold. I consider any information gained as a general start to a project, but I assume you go out and derive the torque curve formulas yourself? Wouldn't want to use any information someone else gave you now, right?
