I don't think kevin is whining, I understand his perspective on things. Honestly I wouldn't mind paying a small donation myself to be able to let him advertise on the site, even though i have never bought anything from him, yet. He has given the community alot, much more than the people who do primarily just use this as a commerce.

And I would say, that if you can't access it from kevins page, that it is not the admins with the problem. You should be able to go to Kevin's site and find it... if not, well then it is more Kevin slapping the rotary community at large (not just the RX-7 Club) in the face. After all, he did the work, posted it orginally to help all of us in the rotary community and then he takes it down because he doesn't like something on a single (of the hundreds) RX-7 or Rotary club boards.
This was the only forum I posted it on. I may still redistribute the link elsewhere via my site frontpage or other forums, but it won't be linked from this forum as long as I am treated this way. Not that most people will give a rat's ***, but it is nice to be recognized at least a little bit by a few who know what's up.

Some of the things going on around here are a damn shame. It's more about money than camaraderie anymore. Guess that is kinda expected when the place gets bought out by a company who really only cares about us in terms of there bottom line. Sad to say it's probably only gonna get worse and we will just get the continual "oh we meant to do that years ago" from the armchair QB's. I just come here to hang out in the lounge and check out the archives anymore.

Ever since my ordeal with DR Motorsports (a current paid vendor at the time). I tend to pick and choose who a purchase from very carefully.

I, for one, would love to see the rebuild thread back up. You can put it one a different page so the link from the site doesn't work if you feel the need, but taking it down for good hurts the rotary community as a whole. I have both major rebuild videos, and still got a lot of good info from that thread. I will check your site in hopes of seeing that you have decided to repost the writeup.

RR, if you do could you PM me a link or email it to me? mannydalilman@gmail.com. It would help me out alot. RR i think you should set up a forum on your website that is rotary engine specific. I know that if there was one, i would use it alot.

See, why is it that I get accused of being insulting, derogatory, or just plain being an ******* in my replies, yet you cam come along and post that **** ^, and it is alright? Double standard anyone?

I find this hilarious because rx7doc actually gave me a demerit (lol, what is this, friggen middle school?) for "insulting other members" recently:

In a GGBG thread, a fellow is complaining about not having received an engine core he bought from another member. The seller claims he doesnt know how to ship it since DHL/UPS refused it due to weight. I go into the thread and, trying to be helpful as usual, post a shipping resource that I use to send engines trouble free. It gets ignored (as usual) and the guys continue to post back and forth about not knowing how to ship it.

So I figure, maybe my post got skipped over during their arguing. I bold and enlarge my original post of the link and requote it for them to see, since it is the answer to their issues, adding "gee, some thick skulls in this thread". Doc claims this is "insulting other member(s)", yet it's okay for mods to say "you didnt know what you are talking about, so you should have kept your mouth shut"?

My my my, what has the forum come to.

I may be able to put that up on my site if you need a place to park it, depending on how much space it requires...I have a bridgeport milling machine rebuild up on there now if anyone is interested.

No double standard at all. He didn't know what he was talking about, Kevin.

Come on, why are you acting like such a baby?

Note: I AM NOT CALLING YOU A BABY.

Now if I was saying someone was a Dumbshit, then that would be insulting them, but I am not! I am saying you are acting like a baby. Not saying you are a baby... saying you are acting like one. TWO DIFFERENT THINGS. One is insulting, one is commenting.

Now hhn2002 said that he shouldn't have opened his mouth. As well enforced in most area's of this board, if you post what you have no clue about being the correct answer, you get a warning or worse. He had no clue... he thought that the board had changed ownership recently. Of course we all know that it actually changed back last year before he was even a member. He didn't know anything about the situation, so it was not out of line to tell him, that if you don't know what you are talking about... don't post!

So stop trying to turn this into a board thing. You are the one that said **** you, to the whole rotary community, by taking down a page that was helping people because you got your panties in a bunch about this board.

YOU DID THAT. This board didn't make you. You got pissed about that your business that sold parts in the classifieds, was told to stop it or become a vendor.

So you changed your page into a rant about this board. You took that help about rebuilds away from not just the people on this board, but from people around the world on the internet, and on all the other boards.

YOU DID THAT TO SPIT ON THE WHOLE ROTARY COMMUNITY because you couldn't have your way here, anymore.

Now if you closed your shop or took down your whole website because you were getting out of it, fine I could understand that... but no... you took it down because you got pissed off about being treated like everyone else. You got pissed, so YOU spit and pissed on the whole rotary community.

So now you still would rather turn this around and blame the board. If you stopped getting people that wanted rebuilds- would you blame that on the board too? Because I am sure that the people that do see through this little vendetta that you started about the board because you couldn't sell your parts in the classified (just like any other company is not allowed to do), certainty might think twice about sending an engine too you.

Lucky for the whole rotary community there are still shops and members that would like to provide help... shops like Pineapple (http://www.pineappleracing.com/) ... they follow the rules and also put a decent rotary engine rebuilding write up, here: http://www.rebuildingrotaryengines.com/. Or Ben at Rotary Evolution in Nor Cal, and who doesn't know about Atkins ( http://www.atkinsrotary.com/ ) that help people not only here, but on the phone, and in person, and they too follow the rules without posting some rant against the board. These kinds of shops deserve the rotary communities support, because they give with no expectations of sales, or of godhood, or of being above the rules. They give help because they love the rotary engine, and love the rotary community, and love what they do!

Kevin,

I'll state it again because you just can't seem to understand?

You received what you received because of this.
Below, post I put in that thread after it was getting out of hand.

The issue to deal with here is getting the member his engine or refund.

The rest of the bickering crap stops now. Next one that comes in here and starts putting flame on the fire is not going to like the results of their actions. :-)

Now it's XxMerlin's time to make this right. I don't want to see anyone else in here right now except him and surfmon.

Thank you,

Doc.

Then you come back in and post this-

Hey genius, you were told this about 20 posts up by djseven. www.gorlc.com. No account needed, cheapest non-commercial rates around.
Geez, thick f*&^ing skulls around here...

I post this again in case it was skipped over before. If he'd shipped it with them, you would HAVE YOUR ENGINE ALREADY because they usually ship in 1-2 days flat. So there is NO EXCUSE.

Stating that you figured he may have missed this? When you posted this-

Quote:
Oh yes, you went SO out of your way having to paypal it to a different email address, I'm sure that was very hard on you. The block WAS ready to ship. In fact it was already on it's way when DHL figured it was too heavy and decided to drop it back off without contacting me. And as for you "demanding" a refund, please show me 1 PM where you demanded a refund? The closest you ever got was, "Once again, if it is too much of a pain to ship, then I'll gladly take a refund." So guess what, you're getting your god damn block, whether you want it or not. If you want to file a paypal claim, be my guest, as I'll have a tracking number ready by then and it won't matter. And if you're hoping to pull the, "Well I'll never buy anything from you again." card, please, don't bother, I wouldn't offer anything to you in the first place.
Classy...

Then he responded with this-

Lol, like you know the meaning of the word.

Above is from thread starter.

I would of said that he read it.

No, the point is that I asked everyone to stop the bickering and lets let them resolve the isssue. But I guess that did not pertain to you.

Kevin,

As stated before to you. I don't have a problem with members trying to help. It is the way that you go about it. In a Bg thread things are already heated enough. When I ask members to cease the bashing and bickering it is to focus on the issue. But the way you go about it is wrong. You are just throwing fuel back onto what should be a diminishing fire.

I have said this before and I'll say it again. If you are not part of the solution, then you are part of the problem.

You have a lot of knowledge to offer members. Knowledge is power. With power comes responsibility.
Learn how to use that knowledge without the rude and condescending statements that you make.

What the heck? Doc, I am fully convinced that you search for my username posts on a daily basis just to see if I have said or done anything that "needs your intervention" as of late. Either that, or you guys have posts about me in your little moderator forum. I have never seen you post in the lounge until now, yet no more than a few hours after I mention that situation, here you are.

The 2nd gen FAQ contains links to two good rebuild threads, one by me and one by iceblue.

I also have enough good pictures from builds over the last few years to write a rebuild article. Though it could take a while as it is a very involved thing to write.

You are correct Kevin, i don't post much in the lounge but I have posted never the less in this forum.

I have done so only in topics that I wanted to and in this case because I was informed that my name was being referenced here. So I posted up.

No offense but Kevins write up was/is more detailed and better written than others. Just my opinion.
