maryland section?
hey, in the NE section we have a thread for maryland stuff, and it gets pretty crowded. I was wondering if we could get a section inside the NE section so we can start seperate threads and stuff.

How bout a compromise... Since I'm NOT in Maryland...
How bout a section for various major metropolitan areas...
Washington DC/Baltimore
Chicago
Dallas/Ft.Worth
Bay Area California
That sort of thing...
Or perhaps break the reginal sections down a little more to seperate New England out of the Mid Atlantic states... That might clean things up a little.

Yeh, ever try finding something in the middle of the MD guys thread? ITs a nightmare!
I'd also start 'project car' threads in it, and multiple mini-get-togethers
Plllllllleeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaasssssssseeeeeeee?

Well, looking at it, there are two massive threads, Richmond and Maryland. I'm all for having a richmond and a Maryland section based entirely on the load on just those two.
I mean, if another state had anywhere neer that many posts, then sure :p But I cant see the justification for giving EVERY state their own forum if there simply arent the posts to back it up :O

That's not the point really. If they give special priviledges to 1 or 2 states others will want it also. Even if those states have way more people, even if their specific state thread is huge, others WILL want to be seperate as well. You have to be fair to the median, not the minority.

No on the state threads. But another request for a more concise breakdown of the regionals...
There's a listing of mechanics and I started a thread on Junkyards... What I found was people talking about junkyards in Ohio and Pennsylvania. The mechanics are all over the place.
No good. An hours drive or so for scrapper parts is a little out of the way.
Again, suggesting a Baltimore/DC/Richmond area, A New England area, that sort of thing. Metropolitan areas or groups of metro areas. Maybe contain them within their respective regional areas, like the South has their own lounge, etc...

So far, worthy candidates for servers are a pair of SparcStation 20's and a Dual processor Pentium 3 750 MHz machine. I gotta head down to the storage locker and dig em up see how loaded they are.
I gotta go shopping for hard drives, unless someone has any SCA 80 pin SCSI drives lying about.
I dunno how well *** cable is gonna take to this, but we'll see how a 3.0/256 connection handles this. (Probably not well given the upstream.)
Realistically, I'd kick it off as a text only forum, then when I find better bandwidth and a better place, I'd kick it up to something better.
