I notice now that if a car thread is made in the lounge it's moved to the General Automotive section. I don't see why that happens. It is a valid topic in the general automotive section but it also fits in the lounge.

The lounge is a place to talk about anything....and if anything happens to be cars, why must it be moved?

I'm sure there is a more eloquent and general way of putting this, but
PLEASE make Rick-Rolling a bannable offense.

I think anyone who is caught Rick-Rolling should be subjected to 1000 lashings with RedR1's tongue.

... of course there are a few here that would find that more of a good thing than a punishment.... you know who you are.

but... then I would become what I hate most!

btw, I have no problem with links just going to the music video. However, the ones that require you to shut down all web browser windows may as well be malicious.

Actually you make a good point with the last thing you said... if anyone comes across one of those pranks let a moderator know and report the thread.

Thanks.

As stated in the Comments and Suggestions forum:

Announcements will be forthcoming.

What was discussed today has been posted for the mods who were unable to make the meeting.

Once those guys have a period of time (24-48 hrs) to review the information and add final comments what is decided upon will be presented to the members.

Additionally, some details or requirements of reviewed issues may also need to be presented to IB. In these cases there may be additional time required to prepare a response.

In other words, yes there were plenty of ideas, comments and other agreed upon solutions discussed today, however it will probably be mid-week before you see all of the details compiled and presented (despite some changes being made in the coming days, specifically clarifying classified rules).

Quick answer to this:

I don't want threads about "My Daily Driver" tied in with threads about "I had sex with a hamster".

I want my bullshit in the Lounge, and my cars in Gen Auto. It's been going on like this for years.

I think Rick-Rolling should never be bannable. Any prank, so long as it isn't pornographis should be perfectly allowed. The threads all go gay, anyway...

I keep losing whatever windows I have open on the internet when I get rick-rolled. Maybe there's a better way to do this, but I refuse to click 87 little messages to get past it, and so I just shut down Internet explorer/Firefox. Consequently, I lose whatever online banking, eBay stuff, RX7club windows, and anything else I have open. Rickrolling was funny for an hour, if that. I believe that anything that forces you to close down any other windows constitutes a malicious post, and should be a bannable offense.

Precisely. It has died down though recently, a couple of people did it in BAW last month, that's why it was brought up.

^^ yeah, like that makes any business sense. Stop the amount of people browsing ads. I don't see IB agreeing to this any time soon.

I think we'd love to do that, but it's not really practical.

I concur.

Wait? People can do this direct from the forum or need to post a separate link to another page?
