Intellitxt?

Is anyone else getting this intellitxt stuff where certain words get automatically changed to hyperlinks, showing useless webpages? lol (sorry if I'm being so critical, but it's kirkin me out). I thought it was some stupid program that got installed on my computer by accident (aka spyware etc), but when I clicked on the "what's this?" link at the top of the info box that pops up if the cursor is placed over the intellitexted word, it said www.rx7club.com has partnered up w/ Intellitxt??

First -
I appreciate the free use of this forum.
I understand servers & bandwidth cost actual money.
I have no problem with sponsored links that support the forum & it's administration.

My suggestion-
The underscores are OK, but the color is difficult to see & read in blue background.
Leaving the user default color would still show the underscores.

Yes, we noticed it yesterday. Yes, we posted our opinion about it in a thread here in the suggestion forum. Yes, it was deleted.

Thank god. I thought I was going nuts. It started doing it and I was like "holy crap, do I have spyware somehow?" But it only does it on this site. What gayness.

I just wish the links were RELAVENT...

Auto Parts suppliers, both aftermarket and stock; Tools suppliers; etc... All would be good choices... RV insurance? Not so much.

I personaly like "Tornado Fuel Saver!"

That doesn't work on anything, and I don't think they make one for a 7 anyway. . . .

i been thinking about this for a while today, since i am a loser and this forum is basically my life, lol.

the intellitext stuff sucks.

if it was so hard to pay for this forum, why not just post an announcement and threaten us with the intellitext ads first? as in, donate some money, or we'll do this. or even charge like a buck or two a year to be a member. thats what, 20k a year?

it just seams like a cheap way to do it to me

Uh ohs... I feel a ban coming my way VERY soon lol. Sorry... I was just KIRKIN cuz I went through my add/remove programs list 1001 times, and couldn't find what it was. I even removed a few patches that were recently installed b/c they mentioned something about a search toolbar lol.

Pat, thanks for the fix! Badass! (Hope we all don't all of a sudden disappear from the forum haha)

It wouldn't be so bad if the text was in a light green or grey or blue or something, but with this dark-blue (plasma). theme, it makes the word virtually unreadable. I'm thinking about disabling it through the hosts file, simply because of that. I have no problem with the ads (n matter how unrelated perfume is to ferarri), it's just annoying to not be able to read the text.

That works on Unixes too - just put the line in /etc/hosts

You want a head-scratcher? Try to figure out how that underlined popover crap (which is typically adware/spyware) gets put on a Linux laptop that I admin myself.

Anyway, if money is an issue, ask. Or do a subscription service that adds perks. Options I've seen floating around on other forums:
Subscribers are the only ones who can change their "subtitle"
Subscribers are the only ones who can post in the lounge/etc

That intellitext stuff is just... horrid. Sorry.

How much do I have to pay to disable that damn Intelltext crap?

It's not disabling as easily as it used to...

How much do I have to donate, where, to get rid of it?

I too would rather donate that have the intellitext take over the forum.
