Hey mod's

Is there a way to 'edit' my posts? Seems this is the only forum that does not allow it. I am horrible at computers, so maybe I just missed it. But in my efforts to keep my threads up to date, an edit button seems like it would work better than new posts every time.

Thank you for your help

That is the only way we can edit our posts? Are there any plans for changing this in the near future? Please let me know. Thank you.

Well, for one thing...In the for sale/wanted's they'd have a real problem with people changing up their prices in sales and such after others have paid. there'd be no way to track it and people could get screwed easily. Plus if you posted something ban-worthy, you could edit it out later, and that just wouldn't be fair to all those who've been banned for that sorta stuff.

Besides, what do you have to hide that you need to edit your post 30 minutes after you posted it? just make a new freaking post.

Mike, you need to put [img] [/img] tags in your sig around the URL to make it work.

And to the newbies in an uproar about this, a quick search, which you don't know how to used obviously--you're retarded after all-- Turned up this thread:
https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...highlight=edit
You'll see I used ONE keyword. "edit" it was literally the second ******* thread in the list, kids. stop cluttering the damned forum, you're making the database error worse.

If somebody changes their price then that would be their stupidity. If people aren't buying their good or service then what would be the point to jack up the price?
For the noobs out there, if they did post something ban worthy as they were not aware of the critical rules on most forums, they should have the chance to go back and make it right if they realize their mistake before they get the boot.
For your third point, it's not that people have something to hide, just updated information. I myself have already desired to update my for sale add, and have not been able to get it to my liking. Say somebody would like to drop their asking price in their original post if the good or service has not sold over X amount of time. There are many instances where this function would assist many people on this forum, and to simply cut it out is like purpously gouing out of your way to make life more difficult.
For your fourth point, thank you I will change my sig in a couple minutes. I thought this forum wrapped the sig image for you, apparently not.
For your final point, I too used the "search" option and turned up this thread. It was the first one I came across that had the topic in mind, also it was a newer thread. Rather than your revival of the dead from about 4 months ago. Any further questions?

read the link I posted, I think your mind is a little off track here. I'm talking about scammers and people trying to coerce extra money out of you. They could edit their post and make you look like the bad guy, and there'd be no way to tell.

awww, well see there's this thing...all of us checked a little box that said we've read and understand the rules of the forum when we signed up...so ya, that doesn't fly. newbs have the same ammount of leeway that veterans do, they accepted the same rules, explicitely. If they didn't bother to read the rules which they agreed to, then they deserve to be banned simply on that merit alone.

that's why you bump and add new posts. If someone wants to buy something, they'll see it and go from there. even if they don't see the updated price, they'll at least say something to express their interest and you can fill them in on the new price. Really, what you're describing is being picky and lazy.

nah, most forums automatically wrap them in hyperlink tags, not image tags.

No question, just comments.

1: It's better to revive an old thread than to create a new one.
2: there was no need to even revive a thread of this nature, the other one had very good reasons why this is a bad idea to begin with. No need for further discussion when the reason for it has been brought to light. This is a forum for sharing and gathering information, not an AOL chat room except for one specific thread, but that's an exception.

Threads are "living" things that constantly change. Usually each successive post in a thread is in reference to a previous post. Once someone is able to go back in time and change what they said things get screwed up. 30 mins to allow someone to fix spelling, grammar or other errors in their post is adequate IMO.

I think it would be nice to be able to delete and/or edit old FS threads on our own, but it's no biggie.

lol, Let's count our blessings...the Miata club won't even let you post a pic of your car!

This is why I re-read my posts before I hit submit... and usually afterwards.
