posting DoO threads in the lounge is a great idea
Seriously, DoO guys, c'mon. You should know better. Bouis, Hondahater, I'm looking at you. Someone who's not in DoO doing it, i could understand... but you guys, come on! You're making DoO look like a bunch of tards! What's wrong with you, honestly?

Honestly, I try to let things go for awhile because we're all adults and I think that a lot of Lounge rats may have something to contribute. But, if it really irks people, then let me or some other Lounge mod know and we'll move it.

 

I get the whole "DOO for Difference of Opinion" bit. But if it's just a humorous anecdote or a joke or something that happens to be peripherally related to politics, why does it have to go in the DOO? Nobody is going to argue about Obama saying "You ain't my bitch, *****, buy your own fries."

 

Not only that, if I POST in the thread it gets moved to the DoO.

It is ridiculous. Plus more need access to the DoO. The old Politics section had real good play. The DoO should have been moved into the Politics.....not the other way around.

 

The politics section was only busy because of the election. Did you not notice the change when the election was over? If something seriously needs to be moved to DoO, just report the post, some Lounge mod will take care of it.

 

And therein lies the problem......if anything is the least bit uncomfortable for ANYONE, it gets moved no matter what the truth may be.

 

Let's not forget that DKJ closed all the threads two days after the election and NO ONE could post in there even if they wanted to.

That may explain why it slowed down....I dunno......

 

I honestly don't recall how quickly the change was done for the Politics section. But I am also talking about in general. Notice the only people posting about politics now? You, HH, 2g.r, and bouis. Those 4 are not including the member's who post in the DoO.

 

Posting a thread where the president says things like "you're not my bitch, buy your own fries" is not politics.

WTF why do I get thrown in the bunch? I haven't posted anything in the lounge I shouldn't have or it would have been moved already.

 

Lets face it. . . DoO is kind of a graveyard. Don't get me wrong, I like to pop in and read, but since I rarely have anything significant to add, I never post.

 

That is my point.....5 people post in the DoO.

Why do threads in the lounge that have to do with politics make you so angry? You don't have to click on anything you don't want to. It's not like the lounge is being overrun by politics.

 

or just bring back the politics section and disable the "report post" button in there.

This is incorrect.

For the record. Politics stayed open for nearly 2 weeks after the election. At the end of that time the threads were MOVED to the DoO, not CLOSED.

Additionally, users were notified of these changes well in advance via announcements at the top of the section.

 

Any further discussion?
