Do you really want to see a thousand ads for "iPods, HALF OFF!", "Discount, generic, imported Viagra", and "Totally slutty bitches willing to flood your inbox with pics of their disease infested cooters!"?
How about ads for stuff sold by known scam artists that will take money and not ship the goods... Or ones that don't even have the goods, they're using a photo from someone ELSE'S ad.

Thanks Pele. The approval of threads makes things run smoothly for the Moderators. There are only a handful of us, and thousands of threads every month that get posted in the Classifieds. You do the math.

No you still did not follow the guidelines. You failed to attach the location icon so I fixed it and opened it for you. So please follow all the guidelines and your threads will be approved.

Personally I find it very inconvenient to use the classifieds when I cant even edit or add my own threads. I understand that the number of moderators are limited, but whenever I need to have something changed or deleted I'm constantly having to contact a moderator for assistance, which in turn is taking more of their time than it would have initially, and causing a hassle for me.
I use 6 or 7 different forums and rx7club is the only one who goes about it this way. I also understand that rx7club has their members safety in mind, but as with ANY online car forum, the classifieds should be used at the buyers own risk. All you are accomplishing by making the posts un-editable, and giving new threads a "reviewing" time is more hassle for the seller when he wants to add a picture, change his asking price, or update any information.
I am often selling multiple items, and I actually tend to avoid using the rx7club classifieds for these reasons, and use other resources such as ebay and other automotive forums. I know that I am not alone on my opinion, and I believe that not only are these "rules" creating unnecessary hassle for members and moderators alike, but also deterring possible sellers to other avenues to sell their parts.

It's very easy to edit your threads. You just post a reply to your own thread with the updated information.
If you have a thread that contains many items then the best way to title it is to list a handful of the parts and then at the end put something to this effect.
Example: FS: shifter, coils, suspension parts and much more, LOOK Inside.
That way if you. are adding parts to the thread later it won't make a difference because you are instructing members to look inside for all of what you are selling. This also will make members want to look in your thread to see what you are offering.
If you are selling a single item then do not put the price in the title.

I don't mind the approval process... I think it serves it purpose and cleans up the clutter.
I however could do without being able to edit my ad.
for example:
what happens when you post an item for sale for $100.
then, after several days or weeks you decide to lower the price to $80
So you add a reply to list the new asking price, but the buyer only sees the initial asking price on the 1st post. Maybe because they don't want to read the 10-30 replies... or doesn't make it past the 1st page-thus losing the sale.
It's a free service that I appreciate so I deal with it. Just wished it gave us more options

The only reason why we don't allow members to edit after 30 minutes is simply because of scammers and people backing out of deals once an item has been purchased from another member. I wish we could trust everybody, but we just can't.
No worries, all of the people are in the position of Moderator, we all debate in private sections about what should be and what should not be done with the forum's. It's not like we just say one thing, and it happens. It took us a while to get the tools we have now, and it took forever to get iTrader on this forum.
