Are you on Verizon? Do a tracert like Force13B and see where your snag is.

I'm 99% it's not us or else there would be elevenbillion threads in the lounge bitching.

I am running through HTC, and it's only when pages are loading or I am viewing an attachment. Posting a reply does not take long at all. It's normal loading time for the reply to post.

Edit: This message took less than 3 seconds to post. So it's page loads and viewing attachments, posting a reply is not bad at all.

Things seem fine now. I'm on Verizon at home and Sprint at work. It was seriously horrible earlier - - timing out and such.

All seems well now.

Musta been net gruntbugglies.

Well, it's ALWAYS been slower than all the other websites I frequent including USAA to check my wife's banking, Jeg's, PY, or Summit, which also have a ton of traffic. It got real bad several days ago but it seems almost up to speed now.

Nope...it's still got some problems....to see it, all you have to do is hit "Edit" and then hit "GO Advanced" and then you'll see the lag....before last year, you could hit those two almost right on top of each other and then the page would load KAPOW...now, there's the waiting period again...

It's inbetween now...it has taken a step back again. I've gotten a couple of "Can't load page" errors starting about two weeks back. Sad to say, but I've just gotten used to it. They'll never fix it here. Even eBay is mucho faster and just think about the traffic they get. Pontiac Zone and Performance Years are about three times faster loading and almost instantaneous when loading pics. How do we get that kind of speed here? Dang...it actually USED to be here, that's the really sad part.

edit: Just this reply and then the page loading took 25 seconds vs. the same thing taking 5 seconds or less at PZ or PY...sigh

It's slow as hell.

They need real system administrators prolly, IB's servers go down too often I'm sure it's not a connection issue, they're located in LA which is filled with tubez.

My ping is 30ms, for LA thats pretty avg, should be 20-40ms,

The time outs, slow page loads, etc are horrid

I never really see the servers "go down" other than the nightly backups.

I'll make sure to let them know they need some "real admins"

Seriously though post up your ping/traceroute stats if you really want them to do something about it.

What happened with the last batch? Did they ever act on that? I never even saw Omicron reply to any of the posts after those figures were entered. Why can't this site be as fast as it was two years ago?

Omicron covers about half a dozen sites these days. This would be something to have IB look into again.

FWIW- We've moved servers since then (remember the small migration a few months ago).

I also just got

"The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading."

Not a problem on the client side, I don't know what your guy's setup is and I'm not being paid to diagnose but one thing that'd cause that is httpd dieing.

Good idea, however it looks like they're blocking ICMP packets...

My ISP is PenTeleData.

PS C:\> ping rx7club.com

In my years here, this site has always been very slow, with periodic bursts of speediness.
