When I am having prolems (as I currently am) I'd say about 50% of the time my page loads are unacceptably slow. I might get the page title to load at the top of the application (in the IE blue bar), but nothing loads in the actual page area. I typically either get a page time out or a partial load. The partial load happens after several minutes sometimes, when this happens it appears that the CSS doesn't load and I get big Times New Roman style fonts and no image loads but usually some of the page text does load. The problem is intermittant though... sometimes it will do this for days at a time then clear up for no obvious reason. It seems that this happens in 1 to 2 week cycles.

I've kept a traceroute running for awhile being logged, not much packet loss AT all, which you'd need major packet loss to get what you're getting.

Yeah this is a problem with the server setup, it could be a few things, can't be a load balancer unless they run quite a few other sites through it that have traffic at different times than Rx7club and friends. Some load balancers start to corrupt data during high requests/sec.

So whoever gets in contact with these "IB" people, let them know theres a problem with their setup (and that I'm up for hire) loljk. I've already diagnosed it enough for them to make it easy to pinpoint, when you get the header only to load, the rest of the page isn't sent, that means the link was prematurely ended OR the apache/php configuration is erroring and faulting on sending the request. I already know they run many servers for rx7club alone, I don't believe its just one or a few, as I've been getting these issues every few page loads, loading images off rx7club is the worst (the attached ones, I have to refresh about 10 times to get them to fully load)

An interesting read...seems a bit faster today, but I won't know for sure til I hit my home PC tonight....a sick lad kept me busy when I got home yesterday. We need to get a little collection going for cmanns or make him a "technical associate"...lol

And at home, with Firefox 3, it's moving very fast right now...I can hardly wait when I get Uverse and the 10 Mbps connection...

I wonder if they did something as a matter of maintenance at the beginning of the month? It's still a bit slow compared to the Pontiac Zone, but they have a tenth of the traffic over there.

^Hops look ok, your isp must of been having some issues though with the packet loss, its normal at times anything above 25% isnt too great, I used to have 60% packet loss 24/7

It's just a problem with their servers, I get it totally random when theres tons of users on here though, it comes to a crawl, I open topics in tabs and walk away LOL

Yep, that's what I had to do last night...just walk away...I thought it might be my wireless connection, but my PZ, Juno and eBay activity wasn't slow, just the RX-7 Club....let's see how Omicrom fares with the IB folks...

Just for grins... try checking out rx8club.com and mazda3club.com when things are slow. Since they are all tied together knowing that all THREE are slow might help.

In my experience when 1 is slow, they are all slow.

It's whatever IB is doing at the time. Right at 5pm it slowed down to a crawl and kept kicking me out stating the server was taking too long so I logged over to the Rx-8 club and could not even sign on because it kept coming back with the server is taking too long.

So far I have tried to post this 8 times and have been kicked out by the server taking too long.

That's crazy...the pages are pulling up blazing fast, but you can't reply...this is my second attempt...I'll try hitting preview first and then replying if that loads...

Jeez...I had to stop page, then hit preview again.....and then hit preview AGAIN when the "preview" box didn't appear with the text and emoticon...here goes the actual submit...

Doubt it's the admins doings, admins don't tend to fk a site up every day randomly, we do internal testing then production test and cross fingers it works, if it don't we leave it fked up long enough to understand the issue, refine it on the internal testing servers and try it production again.

You'd think with the amount people pay for advertising, etc they'd have such an issue under control asap.

I am not noticing any serious lag problems anymore. Sometimes a page takes a few seconds to load, but usually it's something with pictures url'ed or a long page. It also does not help my load speeds that I have 50 posts per page setup.

Mario- Try setting up less posts per page and see if that helps for now until something can be done to where it loads up faster for you.

It's the server side scripts that lag, he gets what I get. I'll skip technical details but 10 posts per page and 50 doesnt have much of a server load affect, it'll just make a slightly larger html page (marginal).

Does this site not load slow for anyone else?

The rx7club awhile back was **** slow with tons of database error mesgs that we all hated, then that was fixed and teh club was okay speed

Recently, maybe 2weeks or so the rx7club has been **** slow for me

I host my own websites in a remote datacenter, I browse quite alot of other sites. My internet is by no means slow, I can upload 2.2mByte/sec instantly, and I can download 2.2mByte/sec sustained instantly, there should be no reason for this lag.

I have provided a FireBug net diag of rx7club index, the index is not the "main" problem, it's more so threads and such

The 404s right there are a big ******* WOW, can IB not hire someone to 1) Make rx7club decent skin 2) Is rx7club backend ran by 14yr old hax0r kids? IB has to be funded enough to atleast keep this site running quickly and efficently, theres obviously no downtime for loss of money from advertisers

The slow downs I'm experencing are making browsing the rx7club sucky

it's just slow, loading images from the club (That pop up in those little javascript image things) it can take quite awhile for the image to show

If anyone else is getting slow downs make sure to post you are so it gets noticed, it gets bad enough that after clicking a thread link I have to wait almost a min just for it to start loading.

I have another feeling the slow downs are caused (for me) by these crappy ads, can you guys not make a thing where we pay 10bucks a year and get ad free club? If not I'll just manually block every single ad you guys display and not give that 10 bucks, those intelli ads and those flash ads are annoying

Yea I noticed the slow down as well, it can be pretty painful. I mean Im not really in a position to complain but I would pay $10 for no ads. If the site had a fee to use, it would keep scammers out as well I think and keep the more serious users in. On the negative side, I think we would have alot less new people getting in to rx7s.

Yes, terrible performance today (starting from early this AM); page loads of 30 seconds or more, sometimes even timing out. No problems with any other website, and I'm on a T1 here.

10 seconds to get the top banner, then anyone's guess if the rest of the page will load before the timeout.

I think there might be some regional issues out in the West. Someone else mention this to me earlier, but my pages are flying.

Someone posted there was a slowdown at UUNET Technologies, Inc. 68.138.52.25 owned by Verizon.

Is Verizon your ISP?
