Classified ads denied

If a thread is missing the location icon in the general classifieds, it is usually due to the person being outside of US/Canada and we have no location icons for these other countries. Instead, they will place the location in the thread title. There are also cases where people in the US/Canada have elected to put their location in the title instead of using the location icon (or sometimes they put both).
If someone put the location in the title and the location icon is available, but not used, I will normally add the location icon. It makes it easier for people to scan down the left side of the page and see where the item is. This is especially helpful for those larger items.

I also posted a classified ad yesterday and it hasn't appeared yet. It's possible that someone just hasn't read it yet, which is understandable, I know the mods on here have lives, but I'm pretty sure I followed all the guidelines for posting classified ads.
I figured I would post it in this thread since this is an existing thread about something similar. Since this is the suggestion box, might I suggest either some sort of automated scripts, or the denying moderator send a PM, with reason(s) why a thread was not approved? It's a little difficult to figure out what's wrong with your classified thread if it just gets denied and you receive no feedback regarding why. I understand that there are tons of threads to go through all the time, and I both respect that and appreciate all the moderators who take the time and effort to read them. Further, I'm sure there are people who just haphazardly post garbage For Sale threads without taking the time to read any stickies or use any common sense. However, I genuinely tried to follow posting guidelines.
A feature such as this would be greatly appreciated. Again, it's possible that my thread simply hasn't been read yet. If that's the case, obviously disregard this, except I still believe it would be handy to have some sort of system in place to explain to people why their For Sale thread was denied.

There were threads up on this subject by me in the classifieds for years that explained the system when we went back to the moderated threads.
There is a brief thread that has been up also in the classifieds as seen here.

From personal experience ( I have approved more threads and sent more pm's to members than anyone on this site) because I started the moderation of classifieds when I was moderating.

It did no good and took too much time. It is a simple thing to do a classified ad and if it is not seen in 24-48 hours then you did not meet the criteria for ads on this site. :-)
