Bumping this back up and sending another request straight to admin. Since we have new owners and a bigger supposed data base then this should be able to happen.

Heck, I think it's a good idea. Have a 1st gen technical section, and a non-technical area. The non-tech area would be useful for discussing such stuff as "Where can find wheels to fit my car". Lord knows we get plenty of those in the tech section......

Seems like I may be a bit late, I do however agree. I love the forum, its a veritable cornucopia of information. Sometimes a bit of chit chat other than, is my apex blown. what's a tII?? whats the best oil <lol would be nice.

I'd feel better about having a section like that all to our own-you guys have been like big brothers to me sharing all your info and basically being the best mannered and most well-behaved group of any internet forum I've ever been a part of. I stay in the 1st gen section for all the info I need, so our own lounge or general BS section would definately be a hit with me seeing as how my '7 is really my only friend besides my son and the guys that've helped me out here (all first gen guys). A place where we could rant and rave about work, women, and whatever else we need to get off our chests with other first gen owners (the best people in the world-besides my seven-year-old IMHO) is what we all need without interruptions from the rest of the community. I've seen how negative some of those guys can be (not all of them though) and I tend to shy away from the negative vibes they can give off. You guys have welcomed me with open arms like your baby brother (even though I'm probably older than most), so we need a place on this forum for "family reunions" and small talk that doesn't pertain to wrenching on rotarys. Thanks for the great idea, DOC! You've got my support...

I still think it's a great idea and -xlr8planet-'s example post is the perfect reason for such a non-tech Lounge for the 1stgen crowd. I promise not to start any Iraq, Bush or Illegal Immigrant threads if it is created..
