Awesome idea. There are lots of things I would rather post to just the 1st gen community than everyone else but don't have to do directly with 1st Gen tech.

hell yes

much better than talking in the lounge and getting all of the "cheap 1st gen" or "ugly first gen" comments.

^^ Yeah but we all know the truth, the 1st gen was the best. And the only Rx-7 that ever came close was the third gen

(For of you that dont recognize net speak, that was not stated as fact. I am just full of it today, so dont post your argument as to why the 1st gen sucks. I will not debate with you.)

C'mon I log in everyday now just to see if we have a casual section! We need this, really we do.

Only problem I worry about is bandwidth use. Its bad enough that I have the speed teir from my broadband provider and have over 700 megs a sec download; I have to wait lots for pages to show up as if i was on dial up. especially with searches.

But anyway This is a good thing.

Cool *** 1st gen section lounge *** ?

I am wondering if it can created to where we add a 3rd section to the 1st gen specific section, a sub-section where 1st gen members can discuss other than repair/mods and technical data without going to the lounge.

The 1st gen section is a tight knit section where they are comfortable converseing with eachother but generally do not want to go to the lounge where most things are a free for all.

The reason I am proposing this is that it would be easier to keep the tech section more organized and still have a place for 1st gen members to chat about other matters.
I of course am volunteering to oversee the section and will help with whatever I can.

Great idea +1

I like to see that.

Mar3 :- " I'm all for it....that way we can also rename the current board the "1stgen Tech Section" like it used to be... ".

I like that.
Thanks Mar3.

Juiceh :- " How about you guys get a Time Slips\Dyno section to even things up... I know some of you guys do dyno and track your cars,".

Nice make the Time Slips & Dyno sticky's on top of the new lounge section, easy for the doc to run / manage ?.
Thanks Juiceh.

Give it a shot.

I think I'd probably be coming back to the first gen section again if this were to come into play. Considering my FB is still down, I have no real reason to come here, and as far as repairs go all my repairs short of rebuilding of the engine have been made.

As for the technical stuff goes, I'll be spending my information gathering in the single turbo and the suspension portions of the website from here on out, so it would be absolutely wonderful to be able to come back here and socialize with the group of people I enjoy talking to the most.

You've got my vote...I may not be what you call a "girlie girl", but the stuff in the lounge offends the **** out of me. I'm a woman (not gay or anything) and none of the people in this section have ever offended me. I would like to see the casual section, as well!!

They probably want to finish ironing out the details of the upgrade before they look at adding new options within the sections...

I'd like to do it, but I know as soon as I add a Lounge to the 1st gen section, the FC and FD sections will want one too. And saying "we're a tight knit group and don't like to use the main Lounge" is a pretty lame reason. If you guys want a Dyno/Timeslips forum, that'd be ok ... but another Lounge to manage, well I'm not 100% in love with the idea.

Great ideal but boosted is right I think we would like a dyno/timeslip sub section.

I was going to point that out, the 3rd gen guys rallied for this same thing and got the response that it was tried in the past and didn't really work, so it wouldn't be tried again in the future...

I think it would be a great idea as well, maybe someday we'll be able to sway them ...

I'm not looking for a lounge...we have one. I'm looking for a place to post/discuss things that are not necessarily pertinent to 1st gen technical topics, but still of interest to fellow first genners. If we had this first gen casual section, we'd have only two forums to check daily, rather than have to try to keep track of 7 or 8 different places a thread could get moved to. I will NOT frequent the lounge for such things...
