Vacation Preferences for May Meet '06 (Ottawa)

Hey Guys,

As many of you know, my new job has kept me from many rotary meets this past year, which royally sucked.

Now Bell has asked me to submit my preferences for Vacation in 2006, and I want to make damn sure that I don't miss Ottawa May Meet '06 because of work. It's totally unreasonable to ask a person to schedule an entire year's preferences in December of the year before, but nonetheless they want me to do it that way.

Anybody know what makes our determination of when the may meet happens? I know we can't see the weather this many months in advanced, but do you think we could hammer out a date early so that I could book it off? It might also be beneficial to other people in my situation who need advanced notice.

lol, I wish I had that many days I *could* book off. If they guaranteed my schedule, I'd know which of the weekends I'd be working (my current schedule only has me working every third, so that would work). Unfortunately my schedule has changed thee times in the last month, so who knows what I'll be working come May.

I heard that the guy that usually puts the Ottawa meet on sold his 3rd gen, and used the $$ to put an LT1/automatic in his Savanna, so he could drive it in the winter.

lol, that would be totally crazy. I don't think I'd believe it even if I saw it with my own eyes.

That '78 RHD savannah is mint, I can't imagine anyone doing that

Seriously. He's finito with the rotary thing. There's even talk of a Z28 camaro!

Just thought of something:

This year will be my 3rd Ottawa Meet on my 3rd engine! Gots to love the RX-7!

Find out when's the import show in Carlisle in May, and it will be the same weekend, it has been that way for the last 3 years if i remember right, but even then, every year there's always conflict over which weekend, doesn't matter how far we start organising it ahead. Personally, i'd recommend to make it as late as possible in May to try to ensure better weather, but it can't be (and I don't believe it ever has been) the May24 weekend cause alot of people obviously make plans those days. And I don't think it has even been the fist weekend in May either. The best guess would be the 2nd and 3rd weekends in May, unless the 3rd weekend is the one being used as the May24 weekend, than I woudl say 2rd and 4th.

Yeah, I concur with that, the 2nd and 4th weekend in May seems better, too many cops on long weekends.
