Ups & fedex can go to hell

So my rigging career has officially taken me international. I now have a address in Pennslyvania and the parts ordering has commenced. I have saved myself 70 dollars US in shipping on an Oil Cooler setup to date, not to mention what brokerage and duty might have added. I can claim 750$ canadian duty free since i am in the states for over 8 days at a time. Not sure what to do about items i cannot fit in my suitcase. Continental airlines dinged me 40 dollars for an extra bag, but i will be flying Air Canada (Air Canada checks 2 bags free of charge) from Rochester NY with a stop over in Toronto. Thought maybe i could help out some of u guys on getting parts across. **** YOU FED EX, UP YOURS UPS

Nice! You’re a lucky man to get a break on the cost of parts…..now get ready for the bombardment of orders. Let me see....what do I need

^^Yeah, think it over.
Lets get some suggestions going on how to make this all happen. bigger items may be able to be shipped to members by myself, which can help us out on the outrageous cost we are forced to pay.

UPS Does suck. If you can't have stuff shipped to a U.S. address, try getting your supplier to ship USPS - when it gets here, you still get dinged for duty, taxes and brokerage, but the brokerage charged by Canada Post is much more reasonable.

The only problem with this is quite a few parts suppliers in the U.S. will only ship UPS. I phoned CB Performance the other day for a Del' DHLA rebuild kit and they refused to ship anything other than UPS. "Can't you just pop it in the mail?" "Nope. We don't do that." Gee - thanks.

alright, well all big ticket items would have to be shipped. body kits and exhaust arent likely gonna be checked on a plane and would be a huge hassle to do so. So in order to get big ticket items such as these. they would have to be shipped to me in PA, then i would turn around and forward it to your canadian address. Do u think that doing it that way would be cheaper?

Blackrx7, i am still waiting for your call, i will be coming to visit u in the peg within a couple months. the 20b will hopefully be on the road!!!!

misterstyx, yes oil rigs. i am a driller, been working the patch for 10yrs.
