The V-band cracked? I've never seen that before!

Try Vibrant, the best V-bands I've ever seen, they have a machined lip so they fit together perfectly and wont leak.

Try pricing it through them first and pm me, I'll probably get it to you for cheaper.

Ian, I'm sure I can get that welded for you when you come up in June if you can wait that long.

Here is a website to buy the flange.

I was quoted $90 or something at the local speed shop for that 3" kit.

- Vibrant Performance V-band flange assemblies feature a unique "Male/Female" design to ensure proper alignment of the flanges inside the clamp.

This may cause a problem since the mating surface on my turbo is flat? What do you think?

I think if it was to be welded the v-band will not fit properly. I will just get it fixed completed eventually.

Not going to chance driving the car that far but thanks for the offer.

Wow mild steel are like half the price! But my exhaust system is SS.

Ian take the turbo off, I emailed you at work so you can read more indetail tomorrow. Did the Vband on the Turbo crack? Because you can weld Mild to that no problem with a high Nickle filler rod.

In that picture its not the v-band clamp. Its the exhaust pipe that has a cnc machined lip on it that you weld unto your dp and connect it to the turbo with the v-band clamp. It cracked right at that lip. Right around the lip on the exhaust pipe. It cracked before the weld that was used to weld onto my 3" exhaust.

I will see which direction I will head with this repair.

Gone for this weekend and the next two weeks so I gather it will not get fixed very soon

Ian, before you go with SS again find out what Series it is, something like a 304 is going to be **** in that area again, It's like using the SSAC manifolds you want a SS series in the 316/321. Those have a much higher Chromium, and Nickel content; using a Series like this will prevent the flange from cracking again.

Personally I would just go with Mild.
