Trouble?! Turbo oil seal question ..

Hey guys, as I was going to replace my y-pipe and front and rear turbo pipes I found some traces of oil in the pipes. It's not major amounts but enough to make small deposits here and there. I have stock twins non-sequential and I was told they were rebuilt in 2008 by Mazda. Is it time to panic? Am I looking at another rebuild?

Needs your help guys , thanks !!

It can be big amounts too. The stock crankcase breathing system dumps the air to the turbo intake so any oil that is shot out goes right into the turbo. So especially after some hard cornering with a full oil pan, your intakes can be full of oil.

That is true as well. The oil can coat the cat and the oxygen sensors would later cause a drivability issues. Also I know that Rx8's have an issue with oil getting in the intake coating the MAF and air filter causing all sorts of problems. It may be normal but I would just vent it into a catch can or something.

Yes I am aware of the rotories burning oil by design. But I'm talking about excess amounts of unburned oil intake and exhaust that may cause problems. Just my two cents!

And where does that "unburnt" oil in the intake go . How much oil do you think can actually be pushed through /minute

I meant in a general mechanical sense. Depending on design like the problematic RX8's, Mazdaspeed 3's, CX7 (turbo) the customers that come in my shop frequently for problems like excess unburned oil where an updated valve covers (or PCV system on rx8) have been installed with baffles to reduce the oil spewing out back into the intake. Its actually pretty interesting to see when you remove an air filter and its literally dripping with oil.

This is all good to know for sure. Its my first turbo rotary and after owning over half a dozen fb's , its a whole new ball game. I would gladly like to mention the previous owner installed some sort rotary aviation kit which directly injects two stroke oil so that it will no longer naturaly burn oil from the pan but from an external reservoir ... and well, so far so good !
