Need info on Engine shipping from USA to Canada.

I may have got a good line on an Engine for "Madame Blue"(sort of what I call the 86 with the blown S5 TII ..) but It is in Ohio.
I need to get it to Ontario..ideally my house, but really I can pick it up anywhere in Kingston,Brockville,Ottawa.
I need your help guys, especially those who have had an engine or something this size shipped from the States.I can't go State side.(don't ask).
I don't want to let this thing slide. It seems like a good deal.
Can ya help me out?
Thanks Lads.
STYX.

Just a keg or with accessories on it?
Also, what are of Ohio? I know a few of the Mazda Owner Corral people in Ohio so could drop them a line to see if they or anybody they know might be heading across the border. Small odds I expect, but no harm in asking.

Try a trucking company? Locally, I know some have used Canadian Freightways, but it would depend on who has a depot within a reasonable drive of you - usually delivery isn't to your door (or costs more if it is).

Canada freightways is a NO go.Just tried.
No residential to residential shipping. It needs to be Business to Business.

Ah, right. Do you know someone with a bay or shop that would take the delivery? Then it would just be a matter of the seller needing to find the same. I'm pretty sure that's how it would work for any trucking outfit.

It would have to be crated and void of all fluids. Maybe on a pallet. Other than that I can't help ya. I know I tried to buy that exhaust from that one guy and Fed Ex wouldn't ship it because it was too large (dimensionally).

It wont be cheap dave, but I know back in the day, I got a quote for $300 from California to my house.

Oh,I know it's not cheap Notorious S.E.A.N..(aka Big LDS!..lol!).
I've got some really wild quotes..like 1900.
But the difference in companies is like night and day too..(as low as 25% of that last quote).
It sucks to get a great deal on stuff down in the States then get blown out of the water with shipping.

using fedex ltl or ups ltl should work (Less than Truckload)

I paid about 500$ from california and about 200$ for customs and brokerage.... They will literally come with a 52 ft trailer with only your engine in it.... but I had mine shipped to a business from a business, but I recall having a residential option for additional?

At the end of the day, it will need to be empty, and strapped to a pallet and shipped as a LTL load.

How much does it weigh? I am a pilot and would consider if the price was right.

That's our old motor in a Craigslist fraud ad. Look at the list of components and you'll see custom CAN-SAF Motorsports header. It pops up every so often, someone trying to rip people off. I wish we'd never sold it now, it's actually increased quite a bit in value.

As for shipping call Andrew at DNA Freight Management Inc. for a quote.

I was wondering about that. It seems to be too good to be true. Tons of HP and Torque for about the same money as a rebuild. I also noticed the Can Saf header and heat sheild and wondered why a Mandiville motor would have that on it.

Thanks for clearing that up.

Eric

The original build was done by Roger commissioned by us. It was torn down a few times and some parts tweaked while we campaigned it in the FD.

I'm gonna let this go..I hate it when shipping is more than what you'd pay for a part..

Ship to the Border

"Kinek customers in the GTA (greater Toronto area) have been long awaiting a closer location in which they can ship freight to. New York Mailbox has been providing terrific customer service in the Kinek network for close to 3 years and they’ve invested in a forklift and hired a forklift operator for your specific needs. Whether you’re remodelling a home, purchasing large parts for your old chevy, or buying anything in bulk, we now have a very competitively priced location in Niagara Falls that accepts skids/pallets.

Pricing currently starts at $25 per pallet under 500 lbs. $50 for 500-999 lbs and $100 for anything above 1000 lbs. That pricing is tough to beat, especially when you keep in mind that you will be notified the same day it arrives via email and optional text, and its location in Niagara Falls. It doens’t get any more convenient than that!"
