Tranny Rebuilder

Anybody know of a good transmission rebuilder in the Toronto area? I want to have my MTX75 box rebuilt (from my Cougar) with some new Quaife parts and I can't find any reputable to do it.

All it will take is replacing existing gears with worn dogs with new pieces and reassembling the box.

We rebuild all our race car transmissions at the shop. Rx7,rx8 and mazdaspeed protege. The Protege transmission probably similar problems you have with that transmission. To keep it reliable we were putting new gears in every 2 weekend as CTCC didn't allow upgrade gears. If you can't find a shop you can give us a call.

I think I found a guy local to me in Oakville that can do the job and he has done a few before that have been reliable. I may need to look at the Houseman box thats in the car after this one is repaired as it seems to be having a few issues as well. Grrrr...... who says you can put 300 hp reliably through a standard FWD case.

I know about Houseman and have called and left messages a couple of times and sent him an email with no response yet.

In case he doesn't want to help out, I have found another guy very local to me and we will see. Its a pretty easy job, just pulling apart the countershaft and putting the replacement gears in, then reassembling the box. I just want it done right as each gear costs over $300 and a full gearset from Quaife is over $6,000 now.
