Thinking about a carrer change. Anyone hiring?

My current job is anything but stable, with work barely coming through the doors, I dont know when Ill be told to not come in because theres nothing to do(as is exactly what happened this morning). I've worked as a CNC machine operator for about 4 years and have plenty more in personal experience, including lathe, mill, edm, and punching turret. I can and have lots of experience with welding and braising.

I've always enjoyed working on cars, but cant stand places that only do cheap, fast, and dirty work for customers who dont care about cars and only see them as tools. Which is why I've never considered doing it for a living.

lately I've been thinking it would be nice to work in a performance shop or other automotive shop that has caring customers and wants quality work. Obviously not the easiest to get your foot in the door, which is why I figured I'd ask here.

Check on the CASC.on.ca forums as RMP Motors is looking for someone and your skill set may be very interesting to them.

Ever thought about working with wood? The Millwork industry is a good place for cnc guys since all cabinetry now is done on CNC routers and its a lot easier tolerance wise then what you do now.
I was a cnc machinist/shop manager for 16 years and made the switch to the millwork world over 3 years ago and couldn't be happier.
