That Mclaren is 2.7 seconds faster then me for now. I was running 5 degrees retarded timing up to 7,000 RPM in that vid to keep the transmission from blowing up (though it blew up the session after lol). If you notice on the straightaway, the engine gets louder, vibration increases, as well as wind noise just before I shift into 4th and just before I brake. This is because it gets full timing 7,000 and up so it gets the full power. The Mclaren only has about 2 car lengths on me currently when I shift properly fast, I'm pretty sure he has nothing on 20b with full timing but that 7 speed dual clutch gearbox is killer. I can see him pull away a little bit every time I shift.

Pretty much every time I go out now I shave a little off my time and then the tranny breaks. Went from a 17.2 to a 16.7 and then pop. I just need my transmission to hold out for a whole track day so I can focus on my driving and setting the car up. I've broken my 3rd transmission this season lol.

Whats the deal with the transmission breaking all the time? Can't you get one that can handle that sort of power output? Or is it something else? Also +1 on the widebody, that would be sick.

Wide rear fenders are probably the last thing on my mind right now. Planned course of action right now is...

- transmission
- turbine housing upgrade to open up my top-end further
- hook up boost controller and raise boost
- new pair of rims for the front to stretch my current 295's and to match the rear rims
- Soft compound tires all around

And if there is time this season, I may add water injection and raise the boost even further as well. Wide rear fenders would happen only after all these things are accomplished or possibly over the winter. All I want to accomplish this year is make the car go fast on track, it doesn't need to look pretty (for now).

Fair enough. It's still sexy...in the sense that it's ridiculous...it's like mad max raw. Wide bodies are just gangster is all (i'm obviously biased, lol). I'm still hoping to make it out to an event with the teg, so maybe I'll get a chance to see your beast, well, for a few seconds at a time...lol. I'll be posting updates...hopefully of her finally starting up. Plus, eventually you gotta do what the ppl want, at least to a certain degree, after all, most of us are living vicariously through you with this build...it really doesn't get much better than this.

Knocked another 1/2 second off my time, I'm down to 1:16.2 seconds. My rear brakes have started cooking so I have to look into that. This awesome picture was taken by Terry. Mad lean bro

It's the correct rim size for maximum performance according to the tire manufacturer.

It just barely touches on the front of the left fender. I'm gonna change to softer springs so I'm gonna raise the rear more and maybe some more hammer work.

Wow congrats on the car, it's a beast! What mufflers did you end up using to get the car so quiet?

Borla XR-1 multi-core for the mid and back.

Got back from Sigma. Beat my previous Shannonville time by 4 seconds, placed 2nd overall, and was 1.5 seconds from the Mclaren. This was all done with a broken 3rd gear! Again! Car is handling amazing now compared to the first Shannonville event and brake problem fixed with new calipers and fresh Hawk blue pads in the rear

Such an inspirational build, great job on everything. I hope to copy some of it for my own 20B

Is this the muffler you're talking about? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/bor-400069

Good news! New built transmission is in with promises of fun times. I get to finally run the car at full power and not expect it to break in 5 laps or less (maybe lol?). For some reason I'm not to sure about this one... Also, a less important upgrade but I found a 70amp relay for my cooling fans

We should have a contest to see how long the tranny lasts. $5 to enter, and the person who guesses the closest wins the pot.

If it lasts the CSCS event, then the money was at least somewhat worth it cause that would mean it has lasted longer then any of the stock trannies which never lasted more then 5 hot laps at full power.

I'm tempted to finally hook up my boost controller but I think that would be pushing my luck LOL.

On another note, my car is going to look a little different for the CSCS finale

Figured I'd give the season update. I was hoping to get the video of my time attack run at the last CSCS but I still haven't gotten it so the Mosport will have to do haha.

The new changes to the car was obviously the upgraded transmission. I dropped the spring rates on the car again from 18k/14k to 16k/12k and corner balanced it again to perfect 50/50 corner weights with a slight rear weight bias (with a full tank of gas).

Anyway, starting off with CSCS the first big news is that the transmission did not break or give any issues. I was running full timing and running soft compound tires in the back and transmission took it no problem. So the transmission is definitely stronger then stock as a stock one have broken in 3-4 laps under the same conditions. Was also a cool day so car was probably naturally making more power which is another plus for the transmission.

With the car working relatively 100% for the first time, I finally got to enjoy the car a little bit and have some fun on the track. Only issue I was having was with the brakes where the pedal was going to the floor and needed to be double pumped pretty much for every braking point. Even with that I started knocking time off over and over again. I only managed to go out for 3 sessions and 1 of those was beading the new tires in so really only 2 sessions so I didn't get as much practice as I would have liked. During time attack I managed to knock off ~1.5 seconds off my previous time by getting a 1:14.8 . Pretty decent time but 1.3 seconds away from the RWD record held by Sasha Anis at 1:13.5 with his 350Z race car. I'm pretty sure the car was capable of a 1:13.x with the current setup but I had never driven the car with full power and handling well so it was a driver problem haha. I think all in all, I did well for the season considering what I had to work with after the build and time. Here's a pic of the car taken by Charles...

I also decided to go to Mosport the week after since my transmission help up and I heard that they want to kick everyone off the big track at Mosport. So I went to the JRP lapping day for possibly my last chance to drive Mosport. Here is where the car really started to shine, it felt like a new car. I had to drop the whole car an inch while I was there because I had it setup up for shitty tracks like Cayuga to hope the turtles to save time but with the extra speed, the car needs to be low. The power was also ridiculous and I could actually use it EVERYWHERE. Unfortunately car and driver were not at all in tune. Every lap in my head I kept thinking "holy ****, this is fast" and would back off. It took my 3 sessions too keep my foot in it all the way down the back straight and even then I was lifting maaaad early for corner 8. But keep in mind lifting early, I was still doing 260 km/h (GPS recorded) with a corner coming up fast that I need to slow down for haha. But it was pretty much the same for every corner, I couldn't keep my foot in it to save my life. With my old 13b I used to do consistent low 1:33's and occasionally pop in a 1:32.9 . Even with all the extra power and grip, I wasn't able to surpass that time until the afternoon. My best for the day was a 1:31.60 before I called it a day due to an exploded muffler and I was having oil pressure issues too. The car definitely has more in it there, A LOT MORE. I can count seconds I was losing by visualizing my "best" laps around the track. But that endeavor requires me to grow some bigger ***** indeed. But again the good news, transmission didn't break for a seconds time!

Also, got quite a few plans for next year, I'll post about those when I think them through hehe.

Here's some video's thanks to Gabe lending me his Gopro... I need to disable the fish eye next time hehe...
