Swap Meet Thread: Pt2

Now that we've established that we want to have one, lets decide where, and when, as per Silverrotor's advice.

Personally, I'd like to see a saturday or sunday in Kitchener somewhere.

What say you?

Well, to rough out the details, lets say

Sunday, March 12th @ Kitchener/Waterloo.

Maybe sellers should list what they're selling too. But, DO NOT call dibs on ANYTHING.
I just want a list of what people are bringing to sell so that we have an idea of what we can pick up, to see if its feasable for everyone to make the trip.

I'll have air conditioning stuff, air pumps, acv, and intake manifolds, all S4 NA.

I just want to understand what is going on here. There was strong interest in having the meet at Mosport and I went ahead and got confirmation that we could do this from the President of the CASC-ON for the BARC Spring Fling Weekend.

The framework of the weekend meet that we are looking at is tickets to the CASC-ON Regional races for the weekend of May 13th and 14th. An area to hold the meet and swap meet that will be for RX7 people. The track allows free camping for people who are coming from far away. I will work on a "Controlled Parade Lap" with the race organizers, but not confirmed at this time unless we get at least 15 cars. You will be able to party over the weekend, watch some great races and get together with other RX7 owners. The track even has a Snack Bar/ Restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The best part about all of this is that I can get all of this for free and it is in a great environment. I have also heard rumours of a number of RX7's, Miata's and RX8's that will be on trackWe can set up a specific time on the weekend for the swap meet and everyone who wants to can stay for the whole thing.

All I need is a list of confirmed people who want to attend I will make it happen and if large enough I am certain that Al from Scarboro Mazda will help out as well. If not of interest, fine and at least I tried to help out the RX7 Community.

Seems like some people don't want to make the drive. But the free tickets you were providing should offset the price of gas to get to mosport. They could even do a cruise up to mosport. I know that drive sure beats driving around the city's previously mentioned.

Plus not to mention watching racing and seeing some rx7's/ rotarys hit the track. Like I said i will show up to the mosport event if I don't do solo1 that weekend. I have no clue to the dates right now.

If this does not fly hopefully you will have a spot for some of us

mosport = real far
but
free tickets = teh win

I'd go that far.. I'd be coming in a minivan though, probably/not/ in my 10ae unless there was a time allotted for lapping somewhere too.

I would drive my FB to Mosport... Free tickets, and it will be a hole cmap out thing and get to watch some racing live in person...

I would probably botch the organized perade lap, or my car would not make it... hahaha

23 Racer has something going, I think it would totaly be worth the drive down...

What about two swap meets? There seems to be quite a bit of interest for a swap meet early on (March?)...in Kitchener...or wherever. And interest for the Mosport set-up. Personally, I'd hate to see the efforts of 23racer go to waste. I've never been there, and it sounds like one hell of a deal. To keep track of interested parties, perhaps we should put a poll in place.

I wasn't trying to dump on anyone, that's just where I'd prefer it to be. If everyone wants to go to Mosport, that's cool. We just needed a thread with a few solid ideas.

well granted kitchener area wpui;ld be cool .. i still think that "23racer's" idea has the most potrntial for an unforgetable weekend and wel as the proper atmosphear and the possability for rx7 oriented buisnes's to comeout and show their suport for the rx7 comunity either way this swap meet has my support and as far as good thiungs happining?.... the sky is the limit here either way my vote goes to "23racer" and the whole mosport idea

I'm in for Mosport. Also I feel that people should people understand that this an actual race weekend, not a lapping day. It's fantastic that 23racer might get us a parade lap.

The Parade lap does sound cool. Sorry to racer23 if he felt disrespect, I was only trying to start a new thread.

Edit: I've heard that some of the folks from down here would still like to have a KW meet. Who'd be down for that?

Okay I will get it done. I will be out of the country until Friday, but will work out the details on Friday with the CASC.

I will post a scedule of events for everyone's approval next Monday and if I get 10 confirmed attendees its a go. Thanks for the support and lets get ready for a good time. Oh yeah who wants to be interviewed by track announcers as a typical RX7 guy? Should be great fun for someone.

just thought ..23racer wants a "typical RX7 guy"..haha!!,WTF is that?...oh 23..if you have to reserve a spot for parade lap..if possible ,you can add me in..and if by any chance I can't get the car there at least I can give it to someone else..(this is giving me incentive to get my car all spruced up..shiney!)..and Rick.. if the KW meet is a go..hell I'm for that too..I think guys will be buyin to get the cars up and goin for the Mosport Weekend..just my feelings on the whole thing..

Yeah, I'd like to have the KW meet for the local guys down here who might need help with the ride or parts to get it to be able to go up to the Mosport meet.
