sounds like its shaping up...I haven't checked the forums all weekend(long story)...but this is shaping up nicely....

23 racer - given the low key nature of the swap meet portion of this Mosport event...what is the likelyhood of selling a part like - for example - a TII diff, driveshaft and halfshafts?

meaning basically can I load up my truck and trailor with my keeeyyyrap or should it be kept on more of a downlow than that?

Bring it to the meet.... I brought a open diff, half shafts, and a driveshaft to the dynomeet. The rx7 has lots of room for that, I just cut a piece of corigated plastic to fit around the strut towers.

Assuming I'm not on 4 12's then, I will be ther for both meets.

There is no half eatin crap back there, I still haven't moved half the crap out of the car since I moved home. But my point is that you can bring lots of crap in a rx7, don't let selling parts make your weekend crap.

He is right. You can put alot of shiz in these cars... they are like pickups, and worst case senario you leave teh back hatch open, and just strap it down in a way so you don't scratch it...

The sound is fanominal.

Okay, I am back from the Sunny South. What a shock to get on the plane and it was about 70 degrees and stepping off in Toronto and it was about 20 degrees. BRRRRRRRRR!!!

Anyways heres what I have worked out so far:

1) A special location with in the Mosport grounds for the "RX7 Club of Ontario" sorry for usurping the name but it made it easier for me to coordinate it. I have no problem giving credit to the new club. It looks like the area that wiil be approved is the field on the inside of Turn 8. Nice and flat, close to the pits/ Refreshment stand and a great staging area.

2) I have officially asked permission from the race organizing club to allow a very slow pace lap around the track at lunch break. This will be behind the pace car and has never been done before, so you guys behave. If you want to go for it on track let me know and I will inform everyone about open lapping days where you can "giv' er".

3) Got approval from the President of the CASC-OR to hold the event on the May 13th and 14th Weekend. The actual Meet Day will be conditional on if we can get a slow pace lap on Sunday. Sunday would be the best day as most of the races take place on that day.

4) Interviews, at least 2, and mention during the race broadcasts. I know the race announcer very well and he says that this would be great and help fill in gaps between race groups.

5) I am also working with Inside Track to see if we can get some event coverage as well.

Therefore to sum up. Keep the may 13th/14th weekend open and plan to be at Mosport. The Pace Lap is 50/50 but I am working on it. We will have a place to meet and free tickets for whoever wants to come.

Regards,

Eric

For everyone who wants them, the race tickets will be available on the CASC.ON website sometime in April. I will monitor and let you know. I am working through a couple of other details and should be able to keep adding stuff as we get closer to the date.

Just want to have an interesting day and let all of you guys see what what Regional Racers do with too many of our weekends. It should be a fun and exciting day for all of you who have never been at Mosport before. By the way I am hearing some pretty cool stuff regarding some new cars coming out for the Touring GT Series. This will be the first weekend for racing this year and a lot of new stuff will be running. May be really interesting to most of you guys as the car mix is going to be substantially higher than last year as a number of the cars will be WC legal.

Now I have to get back to building my new 1/2 bridge 6-port motor with its ITB setup so I can have it broken in before the 3 hour enduro Victoria day weekend.

No the tickets will be free. It is all free to whoever wants to come.

Actually if you don't feel like eating and want to sleep in your car, you can sip water out of the bog down on the inside of Turn 5 and the whole weekend won't cost you a penny. lol.

For those of you I know your more then welcome to crash at my house. I am about 20 to 30mins away and have room for 3 rx7s in the driveway and two possible on the street. (Air mattress would be a plus since I have only one spare bed)

Offer stands as long as I am attending and it does not conflict with solo1.

Just Received Approval

I just received final approval from Bruce Mills, Race Director for the May 13th/14th Event at Mosport and he has confirmed that we will have the following:

1) A special RX7 Club meeting and camping area (inside Turn 8)

2) An invitation to all club members to the Saturday night BBQ that is normally reserved for Race Drivers, Crew, and Corner Workers. It is great fun and a blast to bench race and hear all of the inside stories. This will cost $5.00 a head for those who want to attend.

3) A "Brisk" Pace lap session on Sunday behind the pace car. This will be very quick so make sure that your car is in good condition. They are offering a few laps. This could be from 3 to 10 laps so make sure your car is "SAFE". Passengers are allowed. No helmets will be required. NO PASSING AT ALL. This is the first time they are doing this so don't screw it up.

4) An invitation to perform a very close examination of Greg Beresford Pro Formula Mazda RX8 powered formula car. You can ask the team any questions that you may have. As well you will be able to examine my car as well as Al's ( if I can talk him into coming out for the day).

5) An Interview by at track announcers for 1 lucky person, to be picked by yours truly so begging and groveling appreciated.

6) Oh yeah, as well as free tickets to the event for all who want to attend.

Remember that this is all free, or a $5 charge if you want to go to the Race BBQ. You should have a GREAT TIME. I would like to recommend that the meet take place on Sunday the 14th, so that more people can attend and get on-track and see the races and swap stuff. Start planning to be there I would be delighted to have over 30 RX7's/ RX8's there.

By the way anybody that is interested in crewing for me on the Victoria Day PRO Weekend let me know in a PM. I am doing the 3 Hour Race Sunday evening and I would like to have a few extra bodies to do basic stuff like tire cleaning, windshield cleaning, body smashout (hopefully not). I will cover food and Race Passes. We have just enough crew right now, but a few extra bodies are always helpful.
