Might be interested as well depending on details. I'd have to get my TII built first of course, but that can be done.

Could the red FD with the Precision 6262 post the dyno chart? I wanted to see it but I was busy finishing up my car next door.

That's mine, don't have the dyno chart yet, waiting for dragonwerks to e-mail it to me. Peak power was 305whp, but I was told the dyno was reading low that day.

Car drives like a bat out of hell right now though

Other dynos are generous compared to Joe's. If you want a huge BS number to inflate your ego then go some where else lol.

How much boost were you running btw?

ON Successful day with Steve Kan at Dragonwerks

We had a long but successful day with Steve at Dragonwerks, starting before 9:00am and finishing at 2:00am.

There were RX8 and Mazdaspeed Protege race cars, plus the usual RX7's. We worked through an array of issues from software to timing wheels.

Many thanks to Ivan et al from Can Saf for organizing the day and providing food for everyone.

Kudos to Steve for his enormous patience throughout. It is great to see his trouble-shooting skills in action and he is generous with sharing his knowledge.

What was the catback, and how much of a difference did it make? I would have thought removing the cat to be the first choice.

It started off as a PFS catback, but I hacked it up and install a 3" in/out round magnaflow muffler on the straight section next to the diff, then another 3" in dual 2.25" out muffler at the back.

Our first test was actually to remove BOTH the cat and the catback. When we did that, the power went way up. We then put the high flow cat back on and tested again, and the curve was nearly identical so we narrowed it down to the catback. The rest of the tune was done without the catback on.

Here's a comparison of with and without the catback. Both runs have the high flow cat installed.

After looking at the maps and timiming problems with my car, which held us up till 2:30 am(grey fc), sorry about that. The sensor was an s3 trigger wheel, we were trying to set it up as an s4 trigger which is why the timing would fall 180 degree. It was looking for a second home signal and could not find one.

We did find other issues that may have ended in disaster.

Either way great thanks to Can-Saf and Dragon Works for hosting the dyno session.

My car did make one good pull at one point, could you send the dyno graph to fc3s_10ae@hotmail.com

thx

CA 93 RX7 engine tuning

My son's 1993 RX7 is currently on the road after a new 1.3 L engine install which was built by Atkins Rotary of Washington State...peripheral parts have also been replaced and/or tested such as vacuum hoses, belts, water pump, new 99 spec twin turbos, 3-flow radiator, oil metering pump, injectors, plugs and wires, etc...etc
The RX7 currently has 500 miles on the new engine and has just today had an oil change with new oil filter.
The car for the purposes of the break-in period will operating with the stock ECU and after its required smog test scheduled within the next 200 miles....we would like to install the Apexi power FC as part of the engine tuning.
WE have heard of Steve Kahn as a well respected rotary engine tuning specialist and would like to consider his involvement....a contact number for Steve when he is available in the East Bay area would be much appreciated.
