So I bought a new rotary powered car:
I just picked this up. Was a Long drive, but kicked ***.. On the way back I drove through yellowstone park, the badlands national park, mount rushmore, etc - I'd never been to any of those places before so that was kinda neat.
it's a 1990 20B E-CCS. Needs a bunch of TLC (suspension work, some interior cleanup, and a paintjob) that I plan on attending to over the winter but overall it's an awesome car and is going to make a great new summer daily.
In case anyone is wondering, heavy car + auto trans + 20B = horrible fuel milage... in mixed driving in ontario I've been seeing 13-14MPG driving it reasonably gentle 95% of the time. On the highway with the cruse set at 110km/h for an entire tank of fuel I was able to get as high as 18.9 MPG. Which is 1MPG less than my 1978 ford pickup would get towing it on a trailer. Oh well, it's worth it because it's so fun.
As far as how it drives - it's got much more of a luxury car feel to it than a sports car. The closest thing to it over here is probably a Lexus SC300. I got to experience some twisty roads and while it's at home on them - an RX-7 with a manual transmission is more fun to drive.

If I ever get around to it I'll post more pics from the road trip but that'll have to do for now.

I tried buying that exact car two years ago but it was sold before I could get my hands on it. It's VERY nice and I've always loved it.
I tried getting it through jspec imports. I was bummed when I missed out. It's actually why I had bought this car! Neat that it's up for sale again. Wish I had a way to get my hands on it. So cheap too.
I don't have any engine bay pictures. It's got a very fresh very late (no code) 20B that seems to run quite well.
Very nice , When I first saw these cars 2 years ago really liked them, More of a cruiser than a track car.
That being said anyone interested in picking up a 13b RE version with a 5 speed conversion and a greddy single turbo upgrade
(greddy T61 or T78 ) and Skyline GTR brakes and coilovers.
Theres one for sale in montreal.
Was there this weeks and the guys wanted start of season $ 12000 and now there down to $ 7000 as they cant sell it to quebec people due to the ban on RHD ( it didnt get SAAQed ).

ya would be a good idea, and they come with some nice 17s, I think it was 17x10 rears and 17x8 fronts, and might have upgraded rear end ( had kaaz stickers inside and out ) oh and a nice 4 " exhaust.
I didnt get to see the ecu management it had. I think it was hks Fcon .
Would be nice for yo uto buy it, goes to good hands take off the good parts and swap be done. then resell.
That being said. You probably know this but its quite straight forward the 5 speed swap with 87-91 Turbo rx7 parts ( transmission pedals etc )
