Sleepytown Ottawa

hello fellow forum members! As my little red rx7 project is coming closer and closer to being registered again for the first time in over a decade, i thought it would be nice to get to know the local rotary community a bit more. You guys are very good at hiding from the public eye you know?
so where are ya! thats right im calling out ALL 4 of you What do you guys drive and where do you normally meet? Do you compete in any local events?

I'm here . Driving my 79 sa whenever I can. I've been going to the Rideau Carleton car show almost every Wednesday night.

What is it you've been working on for the last decade? what model, year, engine?

the car i purchased has been sitting under a tree for the past decade. Im still working on getting all of the darn tree sap from the hood and roof
she's a bone stock 1990 GXL with 90,000 km on the clock. There are still a few things i need to fix before im confident it can pass safety and emissions but theres a chance i could get her back on the road by the end of july

Nice, I have a friend in aylmer who had a JDM FD as well. He took me for a quick drive and i emerged a changed man. The car didnt look like it had much else done to it other than exhaust and some rims, but my god was that thing fast. Definitely influenced me to buy something triangle powered. Mind you this experience was years ago, the car has since blown a coolant seal and is being torn apart

Another Ottawa-area guy reporting in (Gatineau, Le Plateau area). My FB is still in rebuild mode so I haven't been out to meets in a few years. Hopefully we'll get that done soon and I can be out and driving again.

We should set up a Local Heroes night or something like we used to - go have some beers and see who's still around, and who's new.

Haha, yeah I'd give you a hand, but I've got no time free for the next two weeks or so. Work has been crazy. If you're not in a hurry for it, PM me and we'll see if we can work something out.

The s4 links are metal.

My car is finally registered and has its own plates! Had no issues passing safety or the e-test, must be some act of god. If you guys are interested we could have a local meet and greet sometime before the summer is out

I'm still working on getting mine back into shape - it's been crap since before I moved here. I'm hoping to get it going this season.
