This Site Is Getting Boring
To relieve the boredom, here is an old video from a race that I did in my RX7 back when it was closer to stock. Great footage of tight racing;

The quality is terrible, but that is what we had back then.

After I got ahead of him he passed me back because when we hit side on side, I knocked off the drivers side mirror against his car and the passenger side mirror against the wall. It was tight and yes I am glad that they opened up inside the curbing.
I did get him by the end of the race though and finished second to the Maxima. A couple of the other cars broke out and I passed a couple more. That RX7 still had the original 172,XXX km S4 engine in it and it would do 1:41:XX all day long.

Well, if you liked that one, how about this one; https://vimeo.com/57872689 Lots of battles and my favorite years racing my RX7. Lots of similar speed cars, great battles and we were racing for money!!!!! When I passed the other white FC on the last lap, it was for 10th place overall and for 3rd in class. It was worth $250 to me.
Whoo Hoo, moneyzzz.

I never noticed the slight clutch slip before on clutch let off. Initially strange until I remembered that I was running a 4 puck bronze clutch and a stock pressure plate. The motor in the first part was a hugely worn out S4 but in the second part was a Mazda Reman S5 motor with an S4 intake and Racing Beat header. I guess the extra power was just enough to make it slip slightly. Good catch.

Yeah, this. Weather here is fantastic (22C forecast by Saturday!), but I usually avoid taking the 7 out of storage until the city sweeps the gravel off the streets - more so this year, because I had the front bumper and hood painted last fall. I swept the gravel just in front of my house a week or so ago (figure I'll throw it under my sidewalk blocks to help prevent winter frost heaving) - got 3 20L pails worth, I'm guessing about 125-150lbs. From a 50' stretch of residential street.

I remember the first time I visited Calgary in the early 90's. It was in April and the first thing I wondered was how a big city could have so many gravel roads, then I realized it was all fine gravel laid down for traction the previous winter. Second thing was how big the hair was on a lot of the girls. Third thing was, how much everybody embraced the whole Urban Cowboy schtick. So much more than Edmonton. Finally, how the H#LL is there a Motocross track sitting in the middle of the city?
Then I went out and bought a cowboy shirt from Lammle's and my co-worker bought a belt with a huge buckle. He was from Dodge City and he said it was the first place that felt familiar in all of Canada.
Now Calgary has gone all upscale and lost a lot of what made it stand out.

There's still a lot of wannabe cowboys here - I recall Calgary became the first place in North America where pickup/SUV sales exceeded those of passenger cars, back in the early 90s, and the number of people driving shiny HD pickups that clearly never see dirt or a job site, to go to work downtown or go to the mall is still amazing to me.
There is less of the urban cowboy thing going on with how people dress though (excluding Stampede time, of course!), which I'm fine by - I'm a native, my grandparents and many relatives farmed, and I spent lots of time on farms growing up, and kind of found it odd for so many people to pretend to be something they weren't - rural folks.
