So Dalwhinnie went up $30 a bottle a little while ago because of the same reasons all the commodities shot up- world demand. So now that the rest of the commodities have dropped like a rock and world demand has slowed, booze should be cheaper, right?
Someone let me know when Dalwhinnie 15 is back to $68.

sort of an interesting side note.. booze an damn near everything else under the sun has gone up in price over time, but marijuana has stayed at the same 10-15/g 200ish/oz for at least 15 years. lets hope they never legalize it.
luv dalwhinnie too ... but if you think this is bad - check out cardhu!! probably my fav single malt, has been unavailable in canada for a couple of years (and the scotch police wouldnt let us order it direct from the distiller). just saw it back in an lcbo ... was lustily reaching for it when i saw the price: $247!!! ouch! it stayed on the shelf needless to say.

I'm more of a beer guy. Never really liked the taste of harder alcohols. Was into the rye n coke for a while but after a couple bad nights I started laying off it. My mother bought me a 40 of Crown Royal for my b-day in June, and I think I've had about 3 or 4 glasses out of it. It's still sitting in the freezer nice n cold.

Just got back from South America. I bought Duty Free 18 year old Glenfiddich - $56 US! My 15 year Dalwhinnie was $46 US but still have some left so didn't buy any. I'm hoping my girlfriend's sister will buy me some when she comes up in a couple months. Also got a giant bottle (2 litre I think) of Bacardi at the grocery store for the equivalent of $23US! Wow.
