Sent Carb for Tuning
Hey Guys,
I just sent the "Sterling" carb, the ported intake mani, and my ISCRacing airbox with K&N and my jet kit down to NY for some updates/tweaking/tuning.
Of course, that leaves me carbless for the time being, and I forgot about the MCO Autocross school on July 7th.
Anybody have (or know someone who has) a stock Nikki carb and manifold I can borrow/buy to hold me over until my Sterling comes back?
I've included pics of the intake that got sent for tweaking, since it was off the car and looked so awesome I just had to grab some pics. For those wondering, the dirty nikki off to the right belongs to Eric and was packed in the same box for rebuild while mine's getting tuned. But I'm basically just looking for something like that with a manifold to tide me over
Jon
Edit: for kicks I included a pic of my *original* carb that came with the car... the one I dissasembled but couldn't put back together. Ended up buying one from silverrotor that got sent to Sterling and turned into the shiney awesomeness below.

I've got the stock one from a 12A at Joe's shop. It gave a nice steady curve on the dyno. You're welcome to borrow it if you like. My sister-in-law (who lives in the west end of Ottawa) is coming down to my neck of the woods this weekend (I'm pretty sure). I could give them to her and you grab them from her. Let me know.

You Dyno'd with a stock carb? Dude, I'd love to see that graph, just for comparison's sake!
Thanks for the help guys, but I got one
dj55b has probably the most incredibly stock carb and intake assembly I've ever seen out of a 7 (I usually strip them during removal for simplicity, but he's actually got pics of the entire intake in one piece outside the car!). So I'm buying it off him and I'm going to use it to make a tutorial on how to strip your stock carb/intake down, then toss it on my car for the Autocross School.
Check the pics in my thread in the 1st gen section:

On the bright side, your sis-in-law isn't going to have to transport a gas-smelling car part back to Ottawa... she'd probably thank me for that one
That is unless you have a really awesome sister-in-law who likes working on cars and doesn't mind gassy smelly things.

There is one thing you might be able to help with though...
Joe do you have any 12a intake manifold-to-engine gaskets in stock? I'm gonna need two (one for when the Sterling comes back, one for the temp carb). The local mazda dealers are a pain to try and deal with for FB stuff, they don't even know how to read the microfiche properly, and I don't feel like placing a Mazdatrix order for a single intake gasket!

Holy, I should just become a Mazda parts dealer LOL.....its weird I've had a bunch of emails this week about people wanting me to get them OEM parts because their local Mazda dealer hardly knows anything about rotaries!
And your in luck! I happen to have 2 intake manifold gaskets right now, your probably also going to need the coolant o-rings as well right? I can send them along too.
Would you want me to just ship them to you? Might be easier than going through 3 different people.

No coolant O-rings
20mm freeze plugs were installed last year to make things easier when removing my manifold for just such an occasion.
Yeah, I'll PM you in a sec with shipping info.
