Crap Joe, thats beautiful. If I ever get back in to Ontario I will come out to see you. Man, I love the de-aeration swirl tank and all the thought that has gone into this setup. Great work.

I have finally got the box specs and sheets from Quaife, so I can drop the whole steaming pile in your lap. I may want to go down and cause some ruckus this year in the Cougar.

(Sorry no bare *****)

Eric

Brain Pick: What's the reasoning behind putting the waterpump on the inlet side of the rad vs down by the outlet, putting gravity to work and feeding the block directly like factory?

Edit: nevermind I see the bend in the hardline, and how the swirlpot wouldn't be able to get the coolant up into the inlet on its own.

It takes the same amount of work/effort to move coolant in the engine regardless of water pump placement. Gravity doesn't play a role in a coolant system, what goes down has to come up eventually. So regardless of where the pump is the coolant will move at the same speed that the pump can process.

^ yea, the delta-z is the same from the pumps reference point. Static pump head is the same whether it's above or below since it's an enclosed recirculating system. Being where it is so close to the swirl pot/header tank, it has the advantage of collecting (ideally) de-aerated water, and would never (ideally, again) suffer from starvation during a high-g corner. That's my understanding, anyways.
