Emmisions, A/C, all those can be removed. Motor must retain stock carb and intake. Stock ignition setup. Exhaust can be anything as long as there is a muffler AND Racing Beat ROAD RACE HEADER.

Interior, the sunroof has to be bolted down I think. You need a IHRA certified roll cage. If you contact the guy who runs the series, he can hook you up with a dude for less than $1000 for a roll cage.

You have to retain the top of the dash and I think the gauge cluster you can get rid of EVERYTHING ELSE. I'd keep the heater blower motor, but remove the heater core. They race in the rain and you need a defogger.

Window has to be removed (or removable) from the door. Metal door panels installed. Battery cut-off switch by the winsdheild wipers (outside the car).

I know alot of guys prep these cars to remain street legal. Theres a minimum weight, but anything higher is fair game. Every car also runs the same tires. When you get into the series, a discount will be provided on these. They are not street legal from what I heard, but they are only like $150 a tire.

Body must be stock in appearance. You cant cut any holes, but you can use exsisting ones (I.E remove a signal light). You can remove the headlight motors, because the headlights have to be bolted down. The running lights and brake lights have to work.

 

When you say can't cut holes, that's only exterior body panels right? IOW, I can't cut a hood scoop? I was thinking of cutting a 4 inch hole for CAI on the right rad support.

I think you can keep the tail, as it was a factory option. However, no aftermarket holes can be made or cut in any way. You can cut up your rad support and stick a hose in front to suck air in, but you can't cut a hole in the hood or ANYwhere. I see some guys take out the signal lights on the bumper and run brake cooling ducts from there.

I always thought of a sleepy eyes conversion. But you have to bolt the headlight covers in place.

And GSL-SE's and all related SE specific parts are NOT allowed. Incase you were brainstorming ways to win.
