There's been discussion about Dave in the mod forum as well and the question has been asked if anyone has any pictures of him. We were talking about doing a memorial to him here on the forum and the question was asked there if anyone had any pictures of him.

Dave was one of the first people to reach out to me when I joined this forum. I never met him, but tried to do as he would in my forum conduct. WWDD, what would Dave Do? This is sad news. He was a genuine enthusiast who wanted to better the community, and keep us on the road as best in could. My condolences to his family and friends.

Wow I really regret not making time to see him in the past month or so. He called me to tell me he was sick. He thought he had until Christmas ish from what I understood, so I thought I did too. This is really upsetting. He was always there to vouch for me and didn't hesitate to try and send me business. Im happy he was able to overcome the demons he fought in his early life.
Dave would give me parts knowing full well I'd try to sell them to make a few bucks. I was a broke teenager and he just wanted to help. Thanks for reading my long winded broken grammar rant.

I haven't been on the forum in a while and find this message.
He was always a staple here at the forum and a great person.
He will be missed. I'm sure we've crossed paths at the "Ottawa Meets" we used to have
RIP

Bummmmmer!
I had not had a chance to get to speak to Dave directly. I had only just rejoined the forums last month. In all of my forum scavenging to catch up on years of being away I was having a ball reading all of his posts. Such a witty son of a bitch, I wish I had a chance to get to know him more. It is cool to know that we here have a special part of him, I am sure he had other interests and other friends but what he did here was unique to him. We are all here to help each other to some extent and he contributed quite a lot it seems. Thanks for sharing, my condolences to his family, hopefully his Rotary stuff is being respectfully cared for.

My life has a changed a lot over the last few years, and I simply don't get to log in and spend as much time on the board as I used to. I'm trying to come back more regularly, but it's hard. I'm only mentioning this because this is the first I'm hearing about this sad news and it hurts my heart that it's taken 3 months.
I never met him in person, but he and I spoke and texted each other a quite a few times on the phone - nothing regular and it pretty much stopped when my life turned downhill. I knew he was sick. He actually sort of made fun of himself about it, too. So I can attest to him being a light-hearted, jovial soul. He didn't know me from Adam, but he reached out to me a few years ago and got me to consider being a moderator - so I am a moderator because of him. He took his time to show me the ropes, and that was sort of how we developed a rapport. I can say this about him as well - he enjoyed helping others and maintaining this community. This is the very first forum I ever became a member of, and I love it for better or worse. There were times I've literally burned hours on end on here. He took it to a different level. He was completely dedicated to this place, I've seen him frustrated with things, but never once moved to real anger. He was truly a positive hand, a positive force around here ... and this is something I would gladly share with anyone about him.
This really, really sucks to hear. I am saddened. I wish comfort for his family for the days, months and years to come. And wherever you are, out there, my friend ... I wish you rotors, laughter, peace and a keyboard to share your spirit ...

Wow, I saw on his profile that it said retired and RIP, I thought it was something that personally happened to him and he left the forum so it was his little inside joke that he always had.
Now I feel like a douche not searching for his name and coming across this thread, as I've been absent myself due to life
RIP Dave, you were a great character, person and Mod, you will be missed
