S5 Tail Lights
S5 Tail Lights
How do you install the S5 Tail Lights if it doesn't come with the center piece. My stock tail lights have the white center piece because it is an 88AE and im not sure if the buyer has the center piece but he said if you wish to install them on an 88...u cut 1cm tab off the center piece. Is this true? and won't it look weird with a white center piece? thanks in advance.
i'm not going to comment on it "looking wierd", but i will say you are going to have to cut or shave down some of the center piece. it's not noticable since the part you have to modify is not really visible.

also in the future maybe post this in the 2nd gen-specific section. seems to be a lot of non-region specific technical questions lately in this forum...

apparently i stripped the thread on the actual caliper where the brake line goes in.
not too sure what i'm going to be doing about that...

Use JB Weld - worked for me!

The threads in my caliper were starting to strip, so before I lost all of them, I removed the hard line and used JB Weld to secure it to the caliper - It isn't the only thing holding the line to the caliper - it is just helping the threads.
And that was about 6 years and 50,000kms ago. So any worries about the safety or longevity of the repair is unfounded.
