Rotary Motorsports LTD: British Columbia

Since I am moving out there, I have been researching some local shops etc. I was looking at the Racing Beat website and came across two good things:

1) RB has dropped Rx7 Heaven from their list of Authorized Dealers.

2) Not far from my new place in BC is a shop called Rotary Motorsports LTD - who is on the list of RB Authorized dealers.

I did some searching and have seen no mention of this shop at all, and I was wondering if anyone has had any experience (Good or Bad) with them? It would be handy having a reputable shop with ties to RB near my house!

So... anyone heard of these guys?

That is definately the plan - hell, I'll even go by there shop when I'm out there.

But it is also nice to know if there has been any prior good/bed experiences with a shop!

Steve is the owner he has closed that shop and opened another. Marko from Force Fed Perf. is at that location. There are lots of Rotary shops in Van. Keep Labs is good (Gerrard & Paulo) 604-327-keep. Check the BCRX7 website.

Thanks!

When my car arrives in Vancouver (Middle of September I imagine) I believe that it will have to go through a certification / etest.... right? Is that something taht any garage can do, or does it have to be done at a government facility? If it can be a private garage, what would be a good rotary shop to take my car to to get these tests done?

Any info on plating my car in BC would be a great help. That damn e test may be an issue.....

Yeah its called aircare and its government run, you have to get it done yearly to insure. It's just like emissions in any other province/state..

As for shops, there are tons around, just don't go onto bcrx7 and ask, people will get mad :P
use the search tool

lol - yeah, I've been around long enough to use the search tool first. Maybe I'll start a "What's a good shop / How much is my car worth" thread and stir up some ****!

How stringent are the aircare standards? What happens when I fail the test?
Thanks!

aircare isnt too bad...failing means u gotta spend some dough to fix problems otherwise u wont be driving the car (aircare is only for certain parts of the province i should add--mainly the lower mainland)... check out http://www.aircare.ca/ for info on tests and whatnot..tells u what u need to pass pretty much

icbc is ur best bet for info on gettin plates - http://www.icbc.com

there are alot of shops to suit ur rotary needs so that shouldnt be a problem...marko is a great rotary mechanic at forcefed, shane at snk's race it, chris at eunos customs...alot of great mechanics too choose from on the mainland (judging by ur description of ur location, Marko or Shane sound like ur closest mechanics)

join bcrx7.com ...good site for ur westcoast rotary needs lol

Thanks for all the help! I'll be sure to look through those sites and join the BCRx7 site as well.

Luckly I'll be there for a couple weeks before my car arrives, so I can get my act together once I get to town.

Went by forcefed yesterday and met Marko. Seems like a good guy, and they will be able to help me out! Lots of nice Fc's there. Finally a good shop near me! Not like Ottawa lol.

Alan Autotech

Alan Autotech is also a good rotary shop that have been around for over 10+ years. They make custom stuff too.

Definately BCRX7 is a good forum for the westcoast 7's.

If you need any help with parts / wheels / vinyl **** like that you can drop me an e-mail: jkrause@dash-ind.com, i have my own company and have tons of contacts in vancouver to help you out. My site is still under construction but should be fully operational soon. And yeah that's my FD.

Thanks for all the help guys!

I haven't registered on BCRX7 yet - but I will. Haven't moved into our house yet so I am at the mercy of Internet Cafes!

I have to order my RB catback, and install it before the car can be inspected. Hopefully I can get the exhaust shipped here before the car arrives! I guess nobody out here can get deals on Racing Beat stuff eh? lol
