a possibility might even be at a track.......the cayuga speedway has had swap meets for old trucks and stuff before....

the dragway may even entertain the idea...

I know a place in Brampton... it does not have any excevily large parking lots but it has a lot of pickncik tables and soccer feilds. It is teh Croation center... it is free, and we would just pick a date and set up there.... the only problem is no drag strip or anything intresting.

If you guys are really interested in putting on this swap meet, I can arrange to have the meet at Mosport during the May 13th/14th CASC races. We can set aside a complete RX7's Only area, swap stuff and see some interesting racing as well.

For people that are coming from out of town there is free camping for the whole weekend and an at track fast food bar that serves dinners lunches and breakfasts.

Let me know if it acceptable to everyone and I will get free passes for all attendees. Maybe a lunch drivearound and an interview with the race announcers for a "lucky" member.

LOL, its really no problem at all to organize. The only issue will be getting tickets to everyone who wants to attend. The tickets will be available for download off the internet as we get closer to the date and I will just have to confirm a location for the swap meet.

Who knows, maybe Al will have his new motored car out and I will have my car out as well getting it all shook down for the 3 Hour race over Victoria Day Weekend. I will also have some cool things on my car for the Enduro as well.

Just let me know and I will get it all put together and have it advertised throughout the whole CASC as an RX7 meet. Mosport frowns on an official swap meet on their property, so no vendors unless they get a cut, but a few guys looking over each others stuff and exchanging parts/ money will be fine.

Guys, Mosports track rules states that if a vendor is at the track, they have to buy/ rent the rights from Mosport for the weekend. I believe that the cost is around $5000. I will check into it if it is important.

The only way that we can do this is if we keep it low key and only amongst private individuals. The guys from JRP, etc.... can come but as people not as a company. If they want to show their "colours" so to speak, it will cost a ton.

I have already spoken to the President of the CASC and he is all for it, but he was the one who said that this has to be a meet where some individuals swap stuff, not an organised swap meet where vendors display their products.

If we want to proceed let me know and I will do it.

Also, if I can arrange a parade lap it will be very tightly controlled, don't count on that. I do know that interviews and facility tours can be arranged for the Mosport newbies.

No you can't. This is not a lapping day, it is a race weekend the 13th and 14th of May. You can get free admission, camping, swap meet and maybe, just maybe a parade lap of all the RX7's at about 40 mph.

If thats not enough then I am out.

That sounds awesome. If I'm not at a solo1 event I will be sure to come. Save me a spot Hopefully there will be a repost to remind us a bout this weekend.

You guys rock!!

If a date and place can be established than we can go with a pinned thread. Create a new thread so no one has to sift through this mess. What do you think?
