I don't know about FCs or FDs, but hot starts for me always go better if I hold the throttle open a crack. Heck, the FB even had a "hot start assist" motor that cracked the throttle open to help hot starts, but I removed it because my foot can do just as good of a job.

Assuming your ignition and fuel delivery systems are good and your timing is alright, check your compression.

Like vipercunnilingus said, check your compression.

If the car starts up fine and easy when cold, but has problems starting up when warm, you could be having compression issues.

It's fairly common with our cars, and a lot of people install fuel cut switches to help with this problem.

My old 13B shows its age by doing this. I was told Cold plugs are part of the issue, as well as compression. I run carb on my FC so I have to mat it to get it to start warm.

Cold start consists of 3 pumps and hold it open 100%.
