Question Power windows, sunroof not working today - ABS light on as well.

Any ideas guys? I just got to work so I haven't been able to do or check anything, but I got into my car this morning, started it and the ABS light came on, then I figured I would stop and grab a coffee - only to find my windows wont go up or down (no sound coming from the motors when switches depressed) I checked the sunroof, it's not working and no sound coming from the motor there either.

Any thoughts?

Will it crank?

Is your battery on its last legs?

I checked the wiring diagram and appears that the ABS,Sunroof,Pwr Windows,Pwr Locks are on a common wire from the Audio set to the fuse box where each item has its own fuse.My guess would be that there is perhaps a discontinuity on the wire from the Audio set.Check the fuses make sure they are not blown --if they are OK it is likely the broken wire. Does the Audio set work?

Ohhhh his first FD problem
Id go witht the fuse thing too....for all of them to stop and be on the same sequense, it would make sence.

So you know....Princess Auto has a sale on this week on a box of fuses. $6...always good to have extras

Problem is the fuse. I forget which one exactly but its one of the ones in the engine bay fuse box. Also, check your fender liners for rubbing.

I got back in the car at the end of the day today and everything worked just fine. I'll check the items you guys mentioned before this turns into a regular problem.

I looked deeply into this and am able to confirm that this is likely the source of my problem.

Nah, FC's have the same problems but they can be fixed for a lot less money. Hope you get to the bottom of this. Sounds like a bad connection on that common wire between all the components.

It would seem my problem stemmed from the cigarette lighter - I guess Mazdas around this generation were bad with cell phone charging (being as it was a relatively new phenomenon). I was charging my BB when this happened, with the phone on. I haven't used the phone charger since and have no had the problem.

....you know, just for the next poor soul who has this problem and tries to use the search function.

Thanks to Six Rotors, as always.
