Power steering
Power steering
I have an 87' GXL and it has a leek in my cooling line of the power steering and my mechanic tells me it costs $800 to replace it....is there and cheep way of replacing it or just get rid of it??? I want to keep my power steering because I love it (my last car didn't have power steering)
Or you could do what I did and get rid of the power steering altogether. Placing a hose over the metal lines is unlikely to work due to the high pressures involved, any such repair is likely to come off and spray ATF everywhere. You could also get a replacement line from a junkyard.

If the hole is in the metal line, look for compression fittings at your local Canadian Tire. There are pictures of Feds fixing his brake lines this way. Works like charm.
