Newbie says HI !

Hello fellow Canadians!

My name is Ken, new member on board from Scarborough, Ontario. Just purchased a 10AE and eager to meet more rotary enthusiasts. Would love to see more of the Canadian rotary scene and learn where people would shop for parts and get bodywork done in Toronto.

Eager to meet you all in person

Ken

For body work pm Joe (Classicauto) on the forum, hes outside Cayuga, but has painted a few RX7's, and they all look awesome. And if you need any engine work done, give www.rotarydynamics.ca a try, Darryl (rd_turbo), and Jim (Jim Kutschke) on the forum will help ya out.

Welcome, I also just picked up a 10AE not too long ago after looking for about 8 years!

What's the general shape of your car? Kms? Stock?

I bought mine off the original owner and currently just trying to get it back into mint shape, lotsa maintenence stuff!

To keep it short its not in that great of a shape. Mechanically it seems pretty good *fingers crossed*, cosmetically.......... sigh ...

I had limited budget and had initially thought of getting a S5 n/a then turning it into a Tii. After a bit of reading and budgeting it seems easier to just pickup a turbo to begin with, especially when I wanted to end up with a white exterior / black interior combo.
This 10ae had everything I wanted and was affordable for a reason. Its got about 180 on the body and the engine has been swapped. It's mostly stock minus removed A/C and ABS plus some subtle mods like S5 tails, a BOV some gauges and other gadgets. Biggest concern is rust. Got some traces along the quarter panels, along the sunroof, around the 3rd brake light and in the door jams. Hope I can afford to deal with it in the spring. *those with hookups for paintjobs please fill me in !

Lucky for me the engine is behaving even in this weather we're having, still starts everytime but a little more stubborn when hot. Like you I'm having my hands full just getting it back into mint shape which includes a heck of a lot of maintenance stuff haha, best of luck to you and I hope our cars will be presentable come spring!
