New Cars New Project
Well earlier this year i picked up an 88 base for $400 having an idea in my head that it would be a fixer-upper. It was rough the floor was rotten, the body was rusty and had no brakes and power steering. First i fixed the brake lines and machined the rotors. just before starting work on the floor i came across something special. A roller 86 base shell with no engine or front suspension for $150 with minor body rust and a clean floor.
Few pics of the cars. Burgundy is the 88 and white is the 86

Whats funny is that I had an really nice 86 shell I was trying to give away about 3 years ago. Nobody wanted it. It was a perfect base for a rebuild. It had no rust and came with a ton of parts. I ended up having it taken to the crusher after trying to get rid of it for over 4 months.
I wonder how many people are in the same situation as the OP? Trying to work on an old rusty pile, when other people have great shells sitting around. I think we should start a thread with all the spare shells that people have laying around that would be available for little to no dough as long as they go to a good home.
It really hurt to scrap that car.

On another note, this car has S5 tails and I have a brand new P/S rack still in the box for sale. See- https://www.rx7club.com/canadian-sale-wanted-classifieds-120/s5-tail-lights-brand-new-power-steering-rack-891703/
Here are a few more pics
