New 450HP 3rotor mid-engine Mazda Furai concept car.
I dunno about gorgeous dude. I'm not saying it's ugly at all so don't mistake me. It's just that, well ****, it's weird looking, seems to have an underbody arch to it that reminds me of the arch in a woman's foot and brings out in me a new foot fetish I never knew i had,
but besides all that, it's weird looking, it's definately more radical looking that ANYTHING ever made on 4 wheels yet and appealing to behold, but gorgeous?I dunno, but to me a car buff looking at that thing and calling it gorgeous is like a ufo/alien buff seeing the alien in the movie bearing the same name and calling it "gorgeous".
Weird, cool, nifty, pretty are words I reserve for it for now.
I highly doubt it. I'm of the opinion that Mazda will leave the RX7 in the past. The 3rd Generation RX7 was such an awesome way to end it all. The perfect goodbye. I'm excited to see where Mazda takes the RX8 in it's second generation.

Look at it this way... a 500hp rx7 might be able to propel itself to a speed of 180mph.... while moving the weight of ONE car. (arbitrary number to illustrate)
My mack truck (139,700lbs GVW) will propell the weight of 30 rx-7's @ 1/3rd the speed.
My mack truck (139,700lbs GVW) will propell the weight of 30 rx-7's @ 1/3rd the speed.
torque = how much you can pull
hp = how fast you can pull it
also with a higher revving motor (high hp) you can take advantage of gearing which multiplies the engines torque
If you do the math, the truck does more "work" yet has less HP when in fact HP is supposed to be a calculation of "work".

I have no point. I was explaining my lack of knowledge or partial understanding
of a concept and explaining my limited understanding in practical terms so that hopefully others would fill in a few blanks for me thus gaining better knowledge.
I was simply putting limited knowledge into terms I equate with, then trying to find out a few why's and how's.
Don't be so confrontational. Geez, now I know why I took most of 2007 away from this place, quick to flip off people.

and you CANNOT repeat CANNOT have torque without power. . .they are DIRECTLY PROPORTIONAL. do you know what that means? obviously not. please read the yawpower link. If you still think you have something to say worth hearing after that, please form a complete counterpoint and then present your ideas.
if what you said is true and torque is way more important than hp all sports cars and race cars would have huge turbo diesel engines that make giants amount of torque but little hp and only rev to like 3k rpm.
Wow, look who came back from the dead and missing, welcome home. How is the fc?

Nice looking car. I hope this will inspire more rotary powered cars in the U.S. If the 3rd gen was the last for RX7, then I hope Mazda comes with something better then the current RX8.
