I see they have Quaker State oil for 30% off and Quaker State oil filters for 25% off. But I prefer Castrol oil and sometimes you can get a Fram oil filter for free (with coupon).

I won't take a Fram filter, even for free. My engines are too valuable to wreck them with cheap ****.

I do hear you on the Canadian Tire flyer though. I like browsing it, and find the odd great deal. A few years ago I got a 100 piece tap and die set for like 60% off. Gotten a lot of use out of that - hard to believe I went almost 20 years working on cars without.

Princess Auto is good that way too.

38-piece impact socket set
I don't have any air tools yet. But there is a Mastercraft Maximum set for $69.99 (reg. 189.99) with a lifetime warranty. Metric, SAE with 1/2" drive, deep and shallow sockets in a metal case. Is that a good deal or does Princess Auto offer something better?

Princess Auto is good for some things and bad for others. Basic wrenches and sockets are okay, but two ratchets I have bought there have been garbage. Granted they both got quite a bit of use, it's still more of a pain in the *** to run back and forth replacing them, so the next one will be a higher quality one. I prefer to use Princess Auto when I'm in a jam and don't have a lot of money to buy a tool I absolutely need.

That probably is a great deal for that socket set, and you can still use those even though you don't have air tools. With the markdown the price is probably comparable to anything Princess would have.

Don't need air tools to need impact sockets - picked myself up an electric impact wrench at Princess Auto at one point - another tool I did without for far too long. Now I need to keep my eyes peeled for a smaller cordless one to take to the track.

Sounds like a good deal on the impact sockets - check this set out from Princess Auto for comparison: http://www.princessauto.com/air/air-...=impact+socket.

I think that's the set I actually have - it's slightly less expensive than the CT set, but decide based on which one has more of the sockets you need, rather than saving 10 bucks. Plus, Canadian Tire has been around a long time, and doesn't give any flack on warranty - just walk in, show 'em what you broke, they get you a replacement, even if you tell them what stupid thing you did to break it (my 5' snipe has broke the odd driver - lol). I haven't tested Princess Auto yet, knock on wood.

I make it easy for my wife, every week I circle what i want for christmas and leave the flyer on the kitchen table. By time xmas arrives I forgot what I circled and it's always a merry christmas. A few tools, screwdrivers, flashlight etc sure beats toothpaste in your stocking!!

Princess auto is really easy to deal with for exhanges / returns. I too have bought impact sockets from them, and haven't broken one in the 7 or so years that I've used them and I beat on them pretty good.

Like others have said, Princess Auto is great for some things and terrible for others. I had a set of 3/8" extentions from there. I literally twisted the drive ends off of all of them. I have a lot of mastercraft tools and I really can't complain. If you buy the maximum series they will treat you well. I've had their impact sockets and wrenches as long as I've been a mechanic with no problems. I've been in the trade since 2005.

I picked up the polishing and buffing toolset that was 65% off today. Couple of wheel buffs, some mushroom buffs and six types of polishing compound. Should work well.

I've been waiting forever to pick up this thing on sale. Finally I went in Saturday and saw it for that price and grabbed it. I was saving up CT money this whole time on my Mastercard and dropped all 131$ of it on this bitch so it only cost me 38$ haha.

I'm a mechanic by trade and God-damn are these things ever convenient for belly pans, rocker covers, intake manifolds, tranny rebuilds, interior work, etc. Anywhere that lugging a thick air line becomes a chore this thing is a God send.

And it's rated at 1400in/lb of torque, or 116ft/lb.

Why didn't you get the normal cordless impact wrench for $99.99???!?!

It has 220lbs of tq and comes with 2 batteries!!

I grabbed the 10x17 portable storage shelter for $199. I'm gonna put my RX7 in that tent and park my winter beater in the garage so I don't have to scrap the windshield all winter.
