My new car, and a new motor for the FC

Greetings fellow rotorheads.

I'm back after a long hiatus.... my life went to hell in a hand cart....
a long story I'm not getting into.

I've got a new motor to bring to some Calgary meets this year.

I blew the seals in my FC so I decided to upgrade a few things.

My 226,000km 6port engine is evolving into a pretty mean NA machine.
The irons are lapped, ported and painted.
550cc secondaries.
Rotor housings are from an FD TT, also ported of course. (brand new condition)
The e-shaft, rotors, thrust assembly & counter weights are all brand new rx-8 parts.
That's a nice compression jump for me... 9.4 to 10.1, plus the e-shaft
and rotors are lighter than 7 versions. I have had the rotors ceramic coated and
regrooved for 3 mil seals and also clearanced. I didn't trust the smaller rx-8 seals to wear well riding over an exhaust port.
The seals were made one-of-a-kind custom, just for this application, with future low boost in mind. I upgraded to the larger turbo oil pump. I upgraded the clutch and preasure plate for
something heavier duty. I replaced the flywheel with the RB aluminum one.
I added RB springs front and back and KYB struts as well.
Oil cooler, brake and clutch hoses are now RB stainless steel braided.
Pulleys are now RB aluminum underdrive.
Exhaust is full RB kit.

All in all I think that the combination of parts used will result in a very nice
NA engine with some decent *****.

I did mention a new car in the subject line and I'll get to that. But since it's one of 103 ever made, and it's semi-exotic, I'll give it a post of it's own.

My TVR

I bought a new car. It's new to me anyhow. It's a 1987 TVR 390SE.
I was thinking of going the JDM route like everyone else, but I wanted
something a little more unique.

Here's my baby... she's on the boat home right now.

The importer had his inspectors prepare a pdf file report of the car for me to see
when deciding whether or not to buy it. You can check it out of you like.
http://control-alt-delete.ca/car.pdf It needs a little TLC, but I'll get it up to snuff.

These cars sound incredible... http://control-alt-delete.ca/tvr/499.mov

There's some pic's of the car here. http://control-alt-delete.ca/tvr/

I can't wait until it arrives.

There Ctrl is! I was wondering when you'd push that rock aside and come out to see some sunshine.

Great to hear the FC is gettin the work-over. How are the FB's? Want to sell me one if you still have em?

If I were you I'd bide your time...LoL...you might just see the 1/2 Renesis FC up for sale so I can afford a TVR repair.....and you're a FC guy anyhow.

It would be a cool body kit for sure! You'd have to hide 11 inches though. Believe it or not, it's that much shorter than an FB. It is however 4 inches wider. At least according to www.carfolio.com

If you see him, please tell him to get his car's VIN/Chassis numbers registered with the TVR car club of north america. I've already checked the Canadian members cars and he's not listed. There's a data archival project going on to
detail the fate of these great cars since they're so few in number.
