If you guys want to, I can arrange a free 2 Hour Lapping Session at Shannonville June 3rd at the CRDA Event. The races end for the day at around 3:00 pm and they are willing to open the track for controlled lapping until 5:00 p.m.

Anyone interested?

This would be a good location for people from the Eastern end of our province. Let me know and I will put it together. See races then go on track. What could be cooler.

So much to do this year. So much to do......

 

This weekend will also be the first race weekend for the new Ontario Formula Ford Championship. Over 50 cars on track. Should be super cool.

it's tempting, since it is on a weekend...but, an 9+ hour round trip for a 2 hour lapping session seems a little excessive.

but it is free and i can also maybe catch the races prior...

When last I spoke to 23racer this wknd, this might not happen after all partly due to the low turnout at Mosport which I am guilty of as well.

low turnout?!?!?!?!? I think the lineup covered a full sweep of the corner, plus there was a couple of cars that wimped out.

 

Just to clear up the issue. I spoke to the organizers again. They have the track for the period after the end of racing Saturday, in fact the Corner Marshall's Group have bought the time. They are planning to have the corner marshall's out on track doing open lapping for the first hour. They are then planning on shutting down the track to open the drag strip for drag racing for about 2 hours.

They were okay with the Mosport lapping session, but felt that 11 cars was not enough to set aside our own period for free Shannonville lapping. What they have said was that if enough RX7 cars show up at Shannonville, then they would "do something" to make sure we got on track for some open lapping. I am not sure what that means.

Give me a couple of days and I will talk to everyone and clear up what this means and let all of you know how much on-track we can expect and if we will be allowed to drag race as well. I have been a bit busy for the last few days (see new thread) so haven't had much time to work on this.
