Mazdatrix.com the only source for RX-7 parts?

Sup everyone,
I need tid bits here and there for my 1st gen. Just wondering if Mazdatrix is the only place where you can get some geniune oem parts such as weather stripping, door seals, bumper lenses and all those rare things that you can't find. I tried ebay, but its pretty tough to find misc parts.

just wondering if anyone knows a Cdn dealer that sells oem RX-7 parts. I do'nt think Mazda dealerships will get these parts for me.

Any input would be nice. THanks

You can always give the dealer a call. They should be able to tell you if they can get the part for you. It's worth a try. I've been able to get everything I've needed form the dealership so far except for the competition engine and tranny mounts that I just bought from Mazdatrix a few weeks ago, and aftermarket parts of course. It's been cheaper to get the parts at the dealer so far.

I always just call the dealer for stuff like this unless I am buying a lot of it. If I'm buying in bulk it pays to go to Victoria British or Mazdatrix. Probart in London has never had a problem getting me 1st gen parts.

yeah, the dealers seem to be easier to deal with for 1st gens than they are for 2nd gens.

I hate to say it, but the Mazdatrix part number is just a re-arragement of the Mazda part number, so you can use their on-line catalogue for this info.

I *have* bought parts from Mazdatrix, but most of the time, the Canadian price from the dealer is lower than the Mazdatrix price, even before shipping, customs and duty are taken into account. Check out the discount thread in this forum, too....I always get 10% off from Brampton Mazda.

the official parts fische is available online for free at the mazda motorsports website. it is pretty huge but will have part numbers for every single thing on the vehicle.

A dealer is great, but its real nice when your parts from mazdatrix actually arive, while parts from the dealer never come in. A while back I ordered a set of drivers and passenger side door seals for my 82. Only 1 of the 4 window seals I ordered actually came in, and then it was the wrong part. The main door seals I ordered never came in. After that, I just said screw the dealer. The parts were more expensive than Mazdatrix anyway, even with exchange. BTW, the dealer that I use is Banks Mazda in Charring Cross just outside of Chatham. The next closest dealers are either Sarnia or Lemington I think. For the price of gas right now, I'll just pay shipping on parts from Mazdatrix.

malloy mazda, or any dealer will probably be cheaper than mazdatrix. the real trick is finding someone that works at the dealer who's competant. a parts fische does wonders.

85rotarypower, your dealer is an idiot! When I place an order with mine, they look it up on the computer and tell me exactly what the stock situation is. If it's in-stock in Canada, it's usually there the same day if I order early enough. If it's in-stock in the US, it takes less than a week. If it has to come from Japan, they'll even estimate that, too. As far as pricing goes, dealers can add whatever markup they want, so if there's no competition in your area, you might get hosed. Just don't lump all dealers in the same boat...Brampton Mazda has been just great with me.

Uhhh, ya. I pretty much figured out for myself that my dealer was an idiot. I'm not trying to imply that all dealers are alike, I'm just mearly stating the situation I am in. Its more productive for me to order from Mazdatrix than to take the time to drive almost an hour to the closest Mazda dealer that isn't an idiot. I really don't have time for that.

Just to show how much Banks Mazda actually knows about RX-7's, they at one time had an 85 GSL-SE that I wanted to buy. It needed all kinds of body work and would not start. They insisted that the engine was recently rebuilt, but I wasn't going to settle on anything over $600 without seeing the engine run. They were asking $1750 for it, and would not budge. Needless to say, the car was still sitting there about a year later. I figure it had been there at least half a year before I even looked at it. Ya, Banks Mazda is a total rip off and don't even know anything about cars. I could even tell you why it didn't start. Basically, it got flooded because they tried to start it with a low battery, then the salesman proceded to floor the gas and flood it even more.
